Can you point out one advantage of having a 5mm thick phone? It's actually much more uncomfortable than a thicker phone. Just another fashion accesory.
And i'm pretty sure 3.5mm jack actually won't even prevent it from being 5mm thick. If i'm not misstaken, there already is a phone with similar thickness+jack.

I already carry a huge power bank due to manufacturers being idiots. I don't need to carry converters too, and i won't be able to use my power bank woth it. How could they come up with a modular phone and still cripple it and fill it with limitations? That's a huge "achievement". But why not when users are so brainwashed they'll accept anything as "normal". Of course they'll do whatever they want.

And wireless is not a problem only in terms of quality, but convenience too. I don't want to be a slave to yet another gadget requering charging (It's only "wireless" until you have to hook up the charger) and replacement after the battery is worn out.

I don't know about quality but its like you would want to listen to a vinyl disc while you travel/walk/? This is the mobile world where everything is getting smaller and every bit of space means you can add more of something(battery..?) or add something new. Don't expect mobile phones to be the same, they may transform to something on wrist, neck or on eyes. You want to use old tech so bad, don't look here... Well you can still wish for hi-res audio module with jack, just what is there for you to complain about. There are even ones complaining about battery. Why the heck are then mods for?
Anyway moto always come out too late(novembers x force now, z force Maybe in fall), they should consider at least releasing version with newest processor or something, until end of year will come out many powerful flagships, they shouldn't be so overly confident that they will sell it well just because its great now, world is moving fast...

The concept of the new Moto Z devices is really cool, but the execution of it - not so much.
First, really small battery of the Moto Z, just to make you buy a Battery Mod. When you add the price of the module and the phone it will be higher than any other flagship. And will look awful too.
Second, the lack of audio jack. Both phones are thick enough to have it. But even if the 5 mm thin body of Moto Z was not able to fit a 3.5 mm jack, the 7 mm body of Moto Z Force should definitely have it. Audio through USB is the future, but it's too early for it.
Third, the design. It's a personal matter, it's kinda unique, but there certainly are nicer looking phones on the market.
I consider new Moto Z phones a niche products, not for everyone. Just for the people willing to buy all the mods and make use of them. Otherwise, go grab other great smartphones of 2016.
