G4 was using snapdragon 808, which a lot of people knew was a lower version of overheating sd810. I really doubt most people really cared about battery life (except for internet fanboy arguments purpose. Not you but the general trolls) and even the S7's bigger battery barely made it above average for a flagship battery life. Though, the S6 was definitely below average. Definitely, it's just a question of time before huawei, oneplus, xiaomi replace samsung sony htc lg as THE goto android smartphones group

AnonD-559070, 11 Jul 2016Stock Android is absolutely crap and everyone knows that ex... moreTrue that. All reviewers talk about only the UI when it comes to custom android like sense or touchwiz. But they never mention added features. Yes samsung touch wiz was horrible upto S5 ..but with lollipop and S6 onwards TW is the best and it adds tons of useful features that matter in everyday usage. Its usually TW features that come to stock like after 2-3 years. Stock android is just boring with onscreen buttons that take up the screen space and every time need to swipe from bottom when the button bar hides ..just waste of time. Stock android doesn't support SD card cards and thats the main disadvantage. The stock camera is pathetic ...both app and quality of photos. Battery life is no good on nexus devices either. I think other phones perform better. nexus 5X battery is worst ..when its no bloat stock android controlling the device i expect battery life to be good at least on nexus. Its not the case.

This is what happens when you have no idea what your flagship device is supposed to be. There was G4 and then came V10 which was much better and then came G5 ... there is no relation between these neither the design nor the features. They should build a proper line up and upgrade the features each year. They are just trying too hard with random features every time. Sometimes its dual front camera, sometimes its dual back camera, sometimes its 5.5 inch device, sometimes its 5.3 inches, sometimes volume buttons are at back, then they move it to side again ... what in the world r the guys at LG thinking. Looks like they themselves are in search of meaning for the word "FLAGSHIP" .. shame !!!

            What went wrong after that?

The abysmall battery life coupled with the QHD-screen?
The worse fps in games due to QHD screen and lack of CPU/GPU-power)?
            Bad build quality?
Or indeed bad Quality Control and abysmal durability of such expensive devices?
            The loss of common sense?
            Greed?

At one time I was about to get an LG for a friend but at the last moment decided against it because the QHD screen would kill battery too quick while making to slow to play any decent game beyond angry birds.

Mkdc, 11 Jul 2016Unfortunately for LG, the smartphone buyers proved once aga... moreNothing to do about conservative. But they (LG) made the same FATAL mistakes as some o/t others

                - smaller battery then previous model
                - higher prices

Not to mention that they, above all, should know that QHD and small batteries don't match as they made the same failure with the G4 and G3. The user-response on the G2 was much more positive due to it's well balanced build. But with the G3 LG concentrated too much on high resolution displays (without the necessary increase in battery endurance). And the G4 was plagued with overheating issues (that were disastrous for every manufacturer at that time). To me it's obvious that LG's leaders have no clue wtf they're doing.

As for HTC's failure to succeed. IMHO the made the same mistakes as LG.
                - decrease in battery-power
                - the pitfall of higher screen resolution (with inevitable decrease in FPS in Games and video and stamina)
                - loss of features compared to previous series (IR-blaster).
                - higher prices

I'm not surprised that manufacturers don't reach their "targets". And this time they are LUCKY that Xiaomi made a HUGE mistake by NOT incorporating the full LTE-bands, for non-Asian countries, in their high-end mi5. Otherwise LG, HTC and Sony would have been slaughtered! As the mi5 is the best well-balanced device, reasonable screen resolution and good screen, IR-blaster, reasonable battery life, fast, external storage, enough internal storage, gorgeous build and good build quality (even Sony is severely lacking in that department this year.). And that the One Plus 3 also misses some features that we take for granted (IR-blaster,inductive charging).

I fear that for next year they ALL go for QHD screens instead of FHD with higher fps in games/video. I also fear that Google will continue to ugly-fy Android making it too much of an iOS clone with regards to its looks. I really fear that 2017 will be a disaster.

Or it could just be that there is nothing wrong with the G5,just that like everybody else, including Samsung, they have all been bit by the massive rise of good Chinese phones that can equal the best in quality but only cost half the amount of cash..
Fingers crossed it carries on and wipes the greedy idiots at HTC out,it's no more than they deserve, premier prices for mediocre devices that never see updates..

Unfortunately for LG, the smartphone buyers proved once again they want a conservative phone more than something different. S7's success compared to its similar predecessor and apple's upcoming iphone 7, which is similar to iphone 6 and 6s, will add further proof to it.

They have a very serious, professional team, world class engineers. The modular design idea is a failure.People dont interested of it.Who needs that?!?Buying their 'friends'modules?Joke...The phone design is ugly.Another hit. They removed dual window feature for multitasking.Another hit.No waterproofing like S7.Plus THEY HAVE NO MARKETING AT ALL.

In some markets, LG has launched the G5 SE, that is worst than "normal" G5, but they are charging a premium price. In Brazil for instance, the LG G5 SE is more expensive than S7. And another problem, is the high number of LG G3 and LG G4 with motherboords and batteries defective, this had avoided many user of continued using LG brand smartphones.

I love the idea of a wide angle camera. I was at a point of getting thr LG G5 a few months ago but when I went in their booth, the first thing I checked is how tight the removable button part is... Unfortunately, it was not that good at all... I left the booth disappointed...

Lg made there biggest mistake by releasing so many unreliable phones when the first joined the mobile market in the u.k,so once you"ve bought one of these phone you turn your backs into buying any future phone they produced,so Lg as themselves to blame for doing this silly mistake they have made, thats why i always wait till a full review about any Lg phone is shown before thinking of giving there phone any chance, the Lg G5 did offer something Samsung used to offer that i like using the removable battery, but the look of the phone was miles behind the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge,Lg & Sony better update there designs of there phones or will struggle even more
