LG said to miss shipping targets, LG G5 blamed

LG G5 main problem is that it looks like a budget phone. For $600-700 people want a beautiful device with a high quality body, LG G5 is badly made, feels cheap in the hand, looks boring and instantly forgettable. I'm glad they're firing executives who let this happen. LG, listen up: all you need to do is to make a beutiful device with latest processor, minimal bezels like G2, with larger that 3000mAh battery, and you'll have a hit.

AnonD-559070, 11 Jul 2016Marketing is not to be blamed IMO.HTC has same issues as L... moreactually there're a lot of ppl switching from samsung to HTC (there was a post on GSMA a week ago i think) and marketing matters a lot (is not everything though) those reviews u mention i can't imagine u have any proof that are getting paid by HTC and google (do u?) and that's all a matter of opinion since ther're some ppl claiming near stock android is way better (though most are geeks that like to root the devices and such)
anyways, i was just mentioning HTC as an easy example (like i mentioned) reality is that samsung is really popular (wether they deserve it or not, wether u like it or not) and every brand has fans (some more than others) so don't blame ads on the street or resellers for the lack of popularity of LG (even though i really think the give good devices just a couple of things i don't like

Pity they screwed up on the industrial design, because there are some useful features unavailable on any other phone, such as the ability to customise the control icons, which you can do on their earlier phones too, such as placing a Notification control at the base of the display so you con't have to reach to the top! And there's the rear power button, wide angle lens and knock to unlock. They should be sensible and get a G5+ out ASAP without the modular bit, better screen and wireless charging, as the G3 and S6 and 7 have it.

AnonD-551566, 11 Jul 2016wow plz tell me ur not blaiming the consumers and retailers... moreMarketing is not to be blamed IMO.HTC has same issues as LG.SLCD Is crap and so is htc's Sense Ui.Reviewers on youtube are so heavily paid by Google and htc that they call stock android and sense ui the best experience but in reality no one buys nexus and htc's because of their terrible Android experience

Haa...first, it is too late for G5 to enter the market, the competitor already make a move one - two month prior
Second...why you have to differentiate the market with G5 SE?! Well, at first I waited for G5, I love G4 and G2, but when I heard about only G5 SE

Aadrian, 11 Jul 2016It's not the LG G5 to blame, it's the consumer himself and ... morewow plz tell me ur not blaiming the consumers and retailers for marketing?? the ads (being TV, bus or w/e) are just a strategy, marketing is a part of this world's business (and sometimes effective) either way consumers are always free to choose (even when someone tells u to buy a samsung it's ur decision to do it)
"retailers like to sell samsung"... also marketing issues, if the stores gets a 100k samsung cellphones and 1k HTC (just to compare, dont know the actual numers average) of course they'll promote more samsung since looks more popular
now back to the topic... i think LG still has a nice number of fans but need to remember that variety is making the ppl changing the devices (different specs might looks better to ur own needs) i really hope LG stands still and let's see what they have for us next year
cheers ^_^

AnonD-559060, 11 Jul 2016Well put. The G2 was a beautiful phone with gorgeous bezels... moreThe real problem with LG and all other brands except samsung is their ugly user interface and LCD screens.LG's Ui is the worst ever made even worse than EMUI and stock android.

No Surprises there.LG's design is hideous and so is their ugly looking Ui.Also LCD screen is not as good as Amoled. These LG's,HTC's and Nexus's will never sell well until they make some good design and well built phone like S7 and user interface like touchwiz.

Battery should be bigger than before, screen should shine with so much nits there, friends should be available right away, bottom part should be more tough, battery should be replaceable without turning off, screen backlight shouldn't shine in the dark, with BnO 'friend' phone should use jack at detachable bottom or not at all, ipxx or at least water resistant, it should look better not weird, should have wide selfie and video manual settings. Would they add a pen(pressure sensitive) it would b3 ideal. They just cannot take things to perfection, and they want to beat samsung? Well at least they try unlike sony.

THE only reason for LG's downfall is their strategies (specially in indian market (the biggest of all)) in all ways specially in pricing and advertising....some phones are too much pricey as per their specsheets (i.e. K-SERIES)....and still no tvc advertising of an single mobile phone......and past of their tvc advertising was confusing. only advertising on social media is nt the right way.....

No need to hit a dead dog but...:
1-G5 is available but its friends are not (where are the friends?; if no friends, what to do with the modular design?)
2-200$ price cut just after 1 month of release
3-Painted metal to hide antenna which is scratched very easily
4-Low power battery
5-Small LCD compared to big body

The G2 was a beautiful phone with gorgeous bezels, it was without question my favorite phone, it was as close to perfection as one could come. Why they couldn't just stick with and improve upon that design who knows... hopefully they will go back and revamp it with new hardware, one can dream...

Marketing had a big impact as well. Their ads were incredibly childish and silly, made me want to stay as far away as possible from this device.

These OEMS make absolutely atrocious design and phones in general and every single UI is either ugly AF or very laggy.
That's why I'm moving to windows phones.
Their design is subtle and clean and their UI id really smooth and well polished
