Nokia N8 gets lots of stick in early reviews, we wonder why

03 October, 2010
The Nokia N8 started shipping this week and reviews of the Finnish company's latest flagship are spreading like wildfire. Checking out the first batch of those we noticed a certain trend, which we cannot...

russian-According to Ubergizmo,
Eldar is quoted as saying
that the hardware on the
Nokia N9 is “near perfect”,
and that he “likes it”.
As with Symbian ^3, Eldar
is not so impressed with
the MeeGo operating
system, pointing out “in
terms of SW is not so good
at the moment - but I
hope they will change it in
2011 ”.

Wow this must be one of Gsmarena's most commented upon posts. My advice too everyone is to take time and get or take the N8 through the paces in a retail store. Blogs as we know it are written by humans who at times fail the impartiality test.

The best reviewer is yourself; after all you will be the one using the damn phone day in and day out!

And GSMarena is not biased at all...
just take a look at the pic samples here and judge for yourselves whether they are real or fake.

It's time for GSMARENA to start camera wars between different camera phones again. It's been long long time GSMARENA didn't do it.
I want the same wars as the Mobile-Review did. See who is right...
N8 vs. Iphone 4 vs. Pixon 12 vs. Wave vs. Satio. LOL.

im with you guys - although i do feel the N8 is going to fall short of the top of the range android phones or iphone and i do think symbiam is riddled with a lot more software challenges (from my experience in the business) but i still think the n8 has the potential to be a great phone, i just hope that all these bad reviews are blowing the poor performace way out of proportion.

I am a Nokia fan. But, before criticizing the reviewers, please look at the review pictures again. Some of the iPhone 4 pictures also suffer from camera shake. Nokia has been at the forefront of Cellular telephone technology but this is the second time in its life that this slumbering giant needs to be awakened. The first time it happened, it came out with "N" series and rewrote the rules. It needs to do it again. Slumping market share and shrinking profits are ample evidence that all is not right at Nokia. If it continues supporting Symbian, it is in for a rough time for sure.

This is so true. Specially when the crops are not equal in size. Plus the guy using N8 is "slow" himself to say the least.
