Messenger, 04 Oct 2010This is not my comment, but this was posted as somewhere el... moreDream on! Symbian3 is an outdated os that can´t even handle larger resoulution than 360x640, and not even fylly use Adobe Flash 10.1 but only a FlashLIGHT-version that is very laggy on many flashsites and the Nokia-browser is still a pain to use. Most Symbian-fans have never tried an Android or IPhone yet. Every other manufacturer is abandoning Symbian forever because they think it, including Symbian3, is not good enough, only the slow dying dinosaur Nokia stay with the outdated Symbian. N8 can not do anything that any Android can not do, appart from the pointless USB on-the-go that easily can bee implemented in any future Android-phone if customers should want it, and Nokia is a so slow company that the Android phones evolve several generations while all Nokia manage is polish their old Symbian so that it today is what it should have been on 5800 expressmusic when it was introduced years ago.
We are not Nokia-haters, if they could produce good phones we would love Nokia, and we don´t hate Symbian or N8 because if it really was as good as Android-phones we would like Symbian, but today Symbian still haven´t evolved far enough for it to be able to compete. If Nokia had given us MeeGo on N8 it would have been so much better and then would have had a larger resolution than 360x640 and full flash 10.1 support...

the essential point that no one is taking in consideration is: Nokia N8 is the first Symbian^3 device. it's a NEW operational system to everyone. how can people compare its usability to the easy (but tired) iOS?

I've tried different platforms, like Windows Mobile, Sony Ericsson's A200 (which is not a smartphone platform), and I've tried iOS, and in a virtual environment I've tried Android. However my weapon of choice always seems to be Nokia's Symbian-based smartphones. I'm a University student and have a lot of use for the features my E72 offers, for example Microsoft Exchange support for syncing my phonebook, calendar, tasks and e-mail, Adobe Reader and a full QWERTY keyboard. I know we are moving towards Symbian^3 but I've not had a chance to try it yet. However I am very very settled with Nokia's S60 platform and I have a feeling that I will love using Symbian^3 just as much, if not more.
Therefore I cannot understand why Nokia always seems to receive undeserved criticism. OK their web browser is now becoming long in the tooth, and sometimes IMAP e-mail handling can be clunky, however out of all the platforms, Nokia's is the most well rounded. Also you can guarantee that Nokia will make their phones out of good quality components with a largely unrivaled build quality. Why criticize something that is so good. Like I said, I've tried most phones and most platforms so I have an idea what I'm talking about. It upsets me to see Nokia's phones be shunned by the major reviewers. The Apple iPhone 4 for example, it has a lot of flaws, such as not having bluetooth data transfer, the alleged 'Antennagate' issues, and the fact that there has not been much change in the design of the device in its four iterations, not to mention the heavy restrictions that Apple place on the device and the apps you can run. If Nokia did this you wouldn't hear an end to it but because it is Apple it seems to be okay.
I say treat all phones equally in reviews, despite who makes them. I personally am looking forward to the E7-00 coming out.

That is laughable. GSMA anti-nokia? No sir, GSMA has always had a favourable bias towards Nokia phones. I would not be surprised if corporate dollars had something to do with it. Reviews of some of the most boring Nokia phones instead of reviews of more exciting handsets from other manufacturers.
And this whole article proves it. I have never seen GSMA defend a phone that is getting bad press in other sites yet. Never. Does not surprise me it is a Nokia.

Maybe European Blogs should start reviewing American phones the same way? Common now Gizmodo... you were using beepers and payphones 8 years ago and now you've suddenly become mobile phone experts?? How much are they paying you to write this crap?
