Nokia N8 gets lots of stick in early reviews, we wonder why

[deleted post]Really guys, there are scores of competing companies sending people here to trashtalk the Nokia devices. We see it in the comments, we see it in the votes. We saw the same thing with the N8 score, and the Samsung Wave. After a while, the trend was completely reversed and all of a sudden the Wave got thousands of 10 10 10. It is all a set up. Use the device yourself, then decide. I am disgusted by these corporate tactics.

When i think better gsmarena really is the best!
I trust to reviews they write and they cover every aspect of the phone and always are neutral!
Those other sites i dont even visit them, but gsmarena i visit few times every day!
I cant believe there are some ppl who call themself journalists who do those those things! How can someone even think we are so stupid and blind?
But i dont care becouse im not reader of those sites, but they make fools of readers and and act stupid!
That video about n8, iphone, and blacberry is so so stupid! I cant even believe! All set up!
Shame on those stupid sites and ppl who run them!

I wonder why anyone even uses the iPhone 4 as a comparison for a smartphone. The death grip and non-working proximity sensor (screen doesn't go blank when you're on a call) doesn't sound very smart to me at all.

whats with all the American bashing? Just because there are some American blogs like Gizmodo & Engadget who have their heads up their ass, doesnt mean all Americans are anti-Nokia. I am an American & I love Nokia & think the N8 is one of the best mobiles on the market. Apple make the dullest & most overrated devices these days, & keep users tied into their proprietary malware; while Android is only concerned about manufacturers paying out royalties to use Google's OS. Nokia is the only company left that has the consumers best interest still in mind.

I have to agree with your article - I've was told about eeh N8 in Carphonewarehouse and the chap there said they'd never been so excited about a new phone, so I Googled it to find out more. But when I read some of the "reviews" I began to wonder if it was the same phone(!) - until I then read the informed user comments that followed them and corrected many of the inaccuracies in the review. Sadly this type of ill-informed reporting just doesn't help anyone - and is rather worrying.
