Altek is biggest sensor? It has 1/2.3 while N8 is 1/1.83 (the smaller the better). Get your facts correct dude.

I agree fully with the GSMArena article. While I am neither biased in favor or against a certain mobile or brand, I am maximally interested in a perfect and flawless comparison and testing procedures.
One thing that immediately stroke me is that other mobiles such as the Pixon12 or the iPhone4 do apply quite a lot of psychovisual enhancements to the photos. In other words: they apply a lot of artificial eye-candy. Colors a brighter, more intense, and saturated, photos look like they have been optimized in phtoshop. While this is nice and pleases the amateur, a characteristic of a truly good canera is to depict the REALITY as closely as possible. Just look at Mr. Mirtazins blog post (it has been linked in the GSMArena article above) and take a look at the photos taken from the pink flowers: The Pixon applies some dramatic color oversaturation and that's why the pink color pops out like it has been painted. If you want modern arts, then you will go for such a camera, but if you want to capture what the EYE sees and what is really there, then you want to get a camera that will make photos that are as natural and as unbiased as possible.
On the other hand, the Engadget comparison between the N8 and the iPhone 4 is something that gave me quite a bit to think: Is it really possible that the N8 with its 12 MP is that much blurred than th 5 MP images taken with the IP4? There is either a flwaed image stabilisation algorithm in the N8 or the guy who shot the photos actually "shaked" the N8 than he shaked the IP4. Nobody knows what happened here and this is why I woould appreciate if GSMArena would take into account this specific point by making comparisons from point and shoot photos and from photos made with a special device that photographers put their cameras on.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010Bottom line.. Nokia is outdated. Apple, Samsung call the sh... moreNokia is outdated? I can agree with Apple leading, but with the upcoming of WM7 and the ever groing Android I can say that Apple is loosing this time.Nokia is a late in this race ot be the best, but offers far more the iPhone.Nokia is even cheaper!!!Aside from calling and texting what do you get with your iPhone? An expensive iPad....And Samsung? Are you joking? Wave has to many problems and people are diverting from it,just google Wave problems and see what I mean.In this case Samsung is losing the race...and ofcourse, did Samsung ever posted an update for ther mobile phones? No? Isn't that strange....

also from what you have written here gsmarena it seems you're starting campaign against these sites due to them having more followers
so it seems that this isn't about N8 but you acting here and trying to make all other sites worser in eyes of reader while making yourself better

Sam, 04 Oct 2010As one of your website fans i should tell you some points: ... moreIs that true Sam? You are the one who are dissatisfied about the other phone that you own... Like IPHONE = The company itself denied that their phone have a problem! That is s*it man!How come GSMarena been biased with the real story behind? It is not a make up story and to tell you what = YOU DO NOT READ WELL!!!

In my opinion, when reviewing a phone, all talk about the phone should be about the phone. Use the phone for two weeks before comparing it to another one.
To even compare the n8's camera with that of the iphone4 is like comparing a ferrari to a mazda3.
Get used to an Os before bashing it. As for me, i've discovered that most reviews and how i feel about the actual phone are mostly opposites.

Anonymous, 04 Oct 2010You say N8 UI is crap, with out saying what it's good at ! ... moreno! hv u read what i said, those early reviews are pretty much focus on the UI with less emphasis on the other areas of the fone, i love nokias simplicity, whats wrong with that? i'm just stating some points, not overall aspect coz surely it will not fit here

It must be hard to work on devices like these every day and not to form a particular bias of some sort.
I think the N8 looks awesome and its camera can take decent shots for a "cameraphone" which is more than you can say for most other mobiles.
But before passing judgement I'd wait to use one and also, buying a mobile as soon as it gets out is almost never a good idea, on top of that ^3 is brand new (remember the first Android or iPhone?) maybe you should cut it even more slack...
Blogs have more power than they realise, perhaps a post like gizmodo's is an ill-advised move with no reason to be. Then again you don't have to read it...

Well, I'm not a Nokia Fan, but the camera review is crap. Iphone's 4 HD recording quality is very good, but still pictures are crap. Iphone's camera can't be better than Nokia's.
