Samsung Galaxy Note7 loses to year old iPhone 6s in speed test

23 August, 2016
Despite being a year old, the iPhone 6s is known to hold its own against more modern devices in speed tests. This is in no small parts due to Apple's software optimization, the performance of the A9 chip, and incredibly quick NVMe storage. But how does it fare against the brand new Galaxy Note7?

It isnt the fastest processor or the app optimisation the NAND soultion on 6s is vastly superior than anything on market. So app loading depends largely on fetching , reading data from the Nand to ram.

agh85, 23 Aug 2016So the year-old iPhone 6s turns out to be faster than not e... moreThat with cores and RAM is not what fanboys say, it's what people who know about tech say. I say cores and RAM mean nothing. But I don't say S7 has an advantage with it's 8 cores (Exynos variant) and 4 gb of ram because that wouldn't make sense. It sounds more like you don't really know much about tech because you relate everything to software and that is what real apple fanboys say. I prefer Apple in Notebooks, Tablets and Phones but I'm not a fanboy reposting apples marketing everywhere like you did. You just talk some trash together and hope to appear that you know something about tech. In my opinion, Samsung and Apple are always on par when it comes to comparing the note with the plus series. When you compare S series and normal-sized iPhone series, always the newer one has a slight edge because there is so much time between them. In things like display (not because of high res which is only useful for VR, but because of colors, black level, power consumption and so on), camera and bezels, Samsung is better. In things like speed, video (better capabilities, just look at the slo mo capabilities of iPhone 6s compared to Note7) and really innovative features which are always adopted by android (touch ID, 3D Touch, dual flash, 64 bit processor and already dual camera which was only because of the rumors), iPhone is better.

There it is easier to press the sleep/wake button. I think it's full time Samsung build a version of Tizen for its flagship devices. Android is a heavy OS and without proper optimization new devices are going to feel somewhat no better than the previous model

If I was given the option of note 7 and iPhone 6 to go on a business trip with for a week, it would not even cross my mind to pick the iPhone. Note 7 strength is in overall productivity. Assume no laptop or tablet. Ultimate mobility. Note 7 hands down, from screen size, email, sms, messaging connectivity. Multitasking ability, battery power, space (64 GB + micro SD), confidence of knowing it's not troubled by water, the S pens versatility the screen resolution, camera and phone security. . . . I could go on. When a phone can pack all this in and run for a day and a half of hard use, its neither here nor there if apps open a little slower. It's still plenty fast enough. This comparison is like two kids in a race, and the winner boasting he came first when the other kid ran the race with a 20 kilo weight in a backpack on his back. iPhone are grasping at straws. And the iPhone 7 is already beaten before it's released. And the sales will back up the quality of the note 7. Wait and see the iPhone 7 sales in comparison. . . .!

The problem is that you are using the snapdragon version on the note 7. There is a proof that the Exynos variant has the twice of speed than the Snapdragon variant on the note 7

** I don't understand what these people are fighting over. Who ever done this video is comparing apples to oranges. Everyone knows the ios is way better than android in optimization, while in practicability its inverse. **

For me a true comparison / speed test should be done with both Note 7 / Iphone 6 loaded with either ios or android. Iphone vs Samsung is a perfect for getting youtube hits and each and everyone is doing so and people are going nuts over it.

It might look dissapointing on paper as you mentioned, but the truth is it has marvel architecture. RAM management on Android is superior to iOS in everyway. It's just samsung's TouchWiz(or anyother skin) is terribly bad at managing RAM(talking with experience here). It's not because of some magical optimizations in iOS that the iPhone beats the Note7.

If the Note is so slow from the very first week... guess what kind of laggy mess will be after some months. Too risky to spend 1200 US dollars (priced as such in my country) to end up with a laggy phone. I'd be better off with an iPhone 6s. And in just a few weeks when the new iPhone will be introduced the 6s will be reduced by at least 200 dollars. It will be a lot cheaper and it will outperform the Note.
