Samsung pulls out the Galaxy S Froyo update due to bugs?

21 October, 2010
As you probably know last week Samsung released the official update that takes the I9000 Galaxy S to Android 2.2 for the Scandinavian region. But just as we thought that worldwide availability is a matter...

Catastrophic support, 21 Oct 20102.2 Update? First it was promised for August. Then for ... moreClearly you're not HTC phone user.
If only you know the story of Hero update... MUCH MUCH worse than Galaxy S.

Hero was a phone of the year 2009 and top notch Android when I bought it, and HTC stop the support less than a year since it's first emerge.
NO FROYO FOR HERO!

I'm not defending Samsung, but there's worse cases.

This is why I ditch my Samsung smartphone for a Nokia. They're very poor in updating their smartphones.

samsung never cared for their customers. Just like my sister, an Omnia HD owner. She seldom receive firmware updates from Samsung.

Unlike Nokia, 12 months warranty and HTC upgrading the versions of their Androids.

Why is FROYO beginning to look like a fantasy?? It's because of all these bugs, potholes and delays that i've resisted buying an android phone.

good thing i waited because i didn't think the software was stable enough ...

I'm starting to really miss sony ericsson :( (they take their time, but the software is stable and the ui is much improved ...)

                        2.2 Update?

First it was promised for August.
Then for the end of September.
Then for the end of October.
                        Now it is November.

That's unbelievable. I played with the thought to get this device, but decided to wait until 2.2 and happy user reports. Look like it never happens.

Samsung, if you haven't learned it yet, software and prompt regular updates are crucial to a smartphone these days. User's don't need hardware. They want a supported product. They don't want a lifecycle of 2-3 months, but of 2 years.

That's why people stick with HTC even if they have somewhat weaker hardware. Support. Repeat it aloud with me. SUPPORT.
