I think it is a very positive move, recalling every single unit instead of just replacing the faulty ones. Instead of doing the apple thing where you deny that your product has a flaw and silently replace affected units... (antennagate, bendgate)

Samsung and Apple are companies that produce average quality procucts. Both companies are only after the pockets of the consuming public. Samsung recalls the Note 7 to prevent lawsuit. These companies top priority is their profit not the welfare and safety of the consumers. If their top priority is the quality and safety of their products then bendgate and the Note 7 explosion will not happen.

And to think that they were trying to save costs by using the same design, the same tired old hardware and software, pretty much not making a note (which used to be the late year's flagship) and now they're hit with quality issues...
Who would had thunk that lowering production costs to such extreme levels actually costs you more ... :p

Herodroid, 05 Sep 2016You are talking BS, samsung is not apple. Samsung device co... moreNo Samsung devices cost less and they have been overcharging for a long time. Besides for Apple its not just the hardware cost, they put billions into r&d for iOS alone. Samsung on the other hand just uses Android which isn't even optimized properly.

AnonD-276592, 05 Sep 2016Samsung needs to reconsider removable batteries.they seriously should have, as at least then the recall would have only cost them a few million and not even reach anywhere near the $1 billion

SaltandPepper, 05 Sep 2016Samsung doesn't care about quality? So why they recall for ... moreYou're talking like there's no law checking these kinds Of issues. If Samsung wouldn't recall, would laws let them go easily.
