Fire an... moreapple must stop the production of iphone 4 at that time. bad signal can cause brain cancer, you know it, because when the signal is poor the radio unit of the phone will boost its signal power up to the limit of 2 watts in 900 mhz networks. when the signal is good, the radio unit emits 0,05-0,5 watts, not even 1 watt. so iphone 4 it was a very unhealthy device to use. the signal power was very weak even in 2g mode locked only. i had that phone. even with that bumber the signal was very bad. samsung managed like a king the problem of the battery.

Samsung is the most outstanding company on earth! Haters gonna hate because they can't afford Samsung phones. There is not other company do this action very well. How about the Apple bendy iPhone? #Antennagate, #scuffgate etc.. and I also heard something like this before that iPhone exploding battery too but what does Apple did about this fiasco? Just a public irony statement like "you hold it in a wrong way" etc LMFAO... at least Samsung do About this unlike this arrogant company named Apple! And this is not even new. Almost all OEM had have problem like this like Sony, Nokia, Motorola or any other chinese crap OEM and what they do is no action just nothing!

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2016Think about it, again. People go to the store and instead o... moreHow would Samsung know you didn't swap out a good battery for a faulty one before you walked in or vice versa? With faulty batteries external to the phone how could Samsung 100% guarantee a faulty one would not end up in a phone that was shipped with a known good one subsequently. Samsung could end up getting a device back that has been destroyed despite sending it out with a known good battery.

Such an unimportant phone, I don't see why people are still writing about this. High end Samsungs are fast getting like iPhones. You know: it's the same as last year instead of that little extra thing that you probably don't care about...

1) sammy's own fault for not doing quality check thoroughly
2) fire in the hole
3) sammy fixed the problem
4) fanboy praise sammy for fixing the problem, which can be avoided
lol

At least some people are smart enough understanding the situation
Which some fanboys are still in denial and saying Samsung is the most noble company ever by comparing to apple
Both companies will do the same for this case
If there was no explosion but random reboot / shut off or bending issue
Do you really think Samsung will recall the phones?
Lol tell that to millions of customers have been suffering amoled burn in problem (yes it's still happening to some people and it's not under warranty after 1 year)

People go to the store and instead of replacing their devices, their batteries would be repaced. Samsung would have the same controll over the returned batteries as it has with the returned devices.
Non-removable battery is never a positive thing.

People like you got deceived by the media. Typical apple-minded, conceited, fashion people. Those people lacking of common sense and praise the unibody, full glass, curved screen design. Those people are the reason why Samsung started copying the iPhone and all Samsung phones have crap design and body since Galaxy S6, and why LG changed the design to worse (thinner, non-removable back cover, metal) in G5.

AnonD-48654, 06 Sep 2016good old samsung, doing it's best for the costumers around ... moreIf Samsung want to do the best for the customers they would make phones with removable battery. Also this battery problem could have been solved easily and with less cost by sending just a new battery for customers instead of replacing the devices.

The total cost of the legal fees, fines and compensations could have ruined Samsung as a company. They have made the best possible decision in this embarrassing situation to recall the Note 7.
Samsung will recover from this but it has already hurt their reputation and market share, it could have been far worse for them if they didn't recall it.

Aaron, 06 Sep 2016Well, I would applaud Sammy for at least being willing to a... moreA couple of things come to mind about the battery not being removable. First take a look at the HP Elite X3. It has a 6 inch screen with a 4150 mAh battery that is user replaceable and is also water resistant.
On a different note. Everyone is saying this could be avoided if the battery was user replaceable. Really? Think about it. What chance would Samsung have of controlling the faulty batteries if users could just swap them out between devices at will. I don't like non-user replaceable batteries in general but on this occasion I actually see it as a positive thing.
