Zenodroid, 09 Sep 2016amd=hello another exploding sammy. use nvidia if anything. ... moreWhy is that? Why would you bring such bias here? Are you suggesting AMD's quality control is inferior to Nvidia's? Or the fact that Nvidia is significantly bigger than AMD (which is the second biggest player trying to move humanity's computing progress forward also) somehow clouds people's judgement? Sure, Nvidia has the somewhat faster desktop graphics architecture, but they also have much more money, which doesn't mean their quality control is superior. If anything, trying to stay out of it, I would much more happily support AMD, which brings much more ethical practices to its customers and puts all of its money (even money they don't have) towards technology, which is baffling how said customers judge AMD negatively while praising Nvidia and Intel.

Doe of Apple goes with TSMC for next 2 years and may be Intel (?) later, I don't see a reason for Samsung to eliminate Qualcomm from their FAB. Samsung itself will never fill the FAB capacity with its own chips. I believe the only reason for Qualcomm to use Samsung's FAB was in exchange for getting into Galaxy S7. I think Samsung is in a corner as only two consumers have a right volume to fill their FAB capacity: Apple and Qualcomm

          This will change everything!

amd=hello another exploding sammy. use nvidia if anything. but anyway, the sammy phones will have curved screens by then anyway, and prob tizen os. so wont really matter, bc its not worth my money. i want my phone screen flat and my girls curvy. not the other way around.

I'm sure someone as vertically integrated as Samsung wouldn't have too much trouble borrowing NVidia's expertise to come up with something good for mobile. We will have to see though. There certainly are things Samsung can learn from them imo.

This doesn't make any sense. Neither Pascal or Polaris are designed to scale into phone chips, and they're not meant to be used on ARM architecture!
A very heavily semi-customized solution could technically be possible but..
Nvidia had their fabled "Maxwell-based" Tegra already, which failed hard, while AMD had their mobile GPUs bought by Qualcomm which renamed them to, yes, Adreno.
Business-wise, it would be smart to go with AMD and their polaris since it's developed on Samsung's 14nm process at Glo-fo, especially considering Nvidia is a competitor in the mobile chipset market (it would be waaay smarter to buy off Nvidia's mobile efforts instead along with licenses).

most likely amd. AMD builds their tech on the 14nm and are partnered with both GloFo and Samsung already which would make it all easier and keep the 14nm finfet tech used by samsung. So it's either mali or amd. and it would be about time for amd to come back into the mobile game after selling their tech to qualcomm in 2008. Tech used to develop Snapdragon

It's all fun and games till you realize that neither nVidia nor AMD GPUs are as power efficient as Snapdragon or Apple's GPUs and don't run as cool as theirs.

Nvidia needs to step up their game if they wanna take a bite out of this mobile market.

It could be because they want more powerful GPUs for better VR experiences. Samsung has been really pushing their GearVR lately.
