Anyway, someone working at a construction site can easily physically damage the phone in dangerous ways. They probably shouldn't be taking $800 devices out like that in their pockets. And then there's the health risks. It's probably not a coincidence that the only known case for the s7 edge exploding is in a construction site.

I've bought Samsung Galaxy S4 for my wife. But it got hot while charging. So I turned it off, waited for it to cool down and tested again. During browsing internet it got hot again, so hot I thought it'd melt in my hand, so I returned it next day. Tried to order this device again from another shop, thinking it was faulty unit, but found out entire batch has been recalled.
For the record: that S4 got real hot while I browsed the menu (swiped real fast through the menu back and forth). My old LG G2 doesn't get that hot, ever, and the area where it gets hot is nowhere near the battery, its around camera (I believe the chipset is getting hot). I've since tried a few phones in the shop but didn't find many others that overheat like that.
Seems like Samsung has a problem with their battery suppliers. Or batteries, or other hardware or even software that causes batteries to overheat during typical device operations. I hope they investigate and make necessary changes. I was really looking forward to getting a pair of S7 for me and my wife, but now I'll think twice. Maybe switch to Google Pixel or something.

I do not dare to buy any Samsung phones anymore, and I will definetly not allow my children to buy any Samsung phone! If Samsung have so extremely bad, even dangerous, quality on their most expensive flagships, then not any of Samsungs phones can be trusted! I am/was a Samsung-fan, but no more, there are many good Android alternatives today!

Come back after a year or some months from now when you realize you've made the wrong decision and tell us you are sticking it out with RM (unless that's the only one you can afford). Actually, these cheap phones are the ones getting your money -- no quality service afterwards, no smooth/ enjoyable software experience & upgrades like apple offers, no security like apple provides. If texting and calling are the only service you need, just get a clamshell phone or something.
