22 September 2016
When asked about about the Note7 recall, MediaTek executive declined to comment, but for a good reason.

This would make me dislike Samsung phones because I dislike mediaTek devices. Samsung is just getting more greedy and terrible by the day.

Even if Samsung is able to make more wons and sell a boatload more units of their low/mid-rangers, I firmly believe they make most of their smartphone profits from the Galaxy Ss and Notes, even with recalls, explosions and lawsuits. But of course, I could be totally wrong.

          Low range under $200:
J3 is selling as hot cake. And very good phone.
Tizen phones(only one model so far) is selling as great as Tizen is now more popular than WP OS.
And how much profit could have Samsung with phones under $200 or under $100 when only the profit from GS or Note is $400/500? LOL
          Mid range:
The A serie is selling very good and they are better than the iPhones

BTW the biggest profit Samsung have from the high end phones GS/Edge and Note.
Both are selling more than the high end iPhones worldwide.

I think Samsung earns the most form it's midrange and budget phones which are quite expensive and crappy .

It makes sense in a business aspect. Why spend your manpower making low-mid range chips for phones that have low profit margins.

Samsung also sources SoCs from Spreadtrum for its low end devices. That they start using MediaTek should not come as a surprise, since Samsung is the largest smartphone manufacturer of the world and has a top to bottom product line. They need to differentiate their products every way they can.

Haha, 18th century intrigues now. I think SAMS is playing games to lowball QCom. Plus, I am sure they are stealing their designs. It is all big circle. I hope Intel will benefit of that circus.

For a while now, exynos has been performing better overall than the snapdragons. It's only a matter of time before the gpu catches up with qualcomm's but i would have exynos over sd any day.

As much as I dislike MediaTek, I think if this means ALL Samsung high-end phones will ship with Exynos that is a very positive thing. Clearly the S7's with Qualcomm chips this year got the short end of the stick with a much less optimized system than the Exynos counterpart.

Then qualqacomm will be in trouble.. For sure
