At least Sony supports their flagship devices for a long period of time.
Xperia Z got to Android 5.1.1 before Galaxy S4 could.
Xperia Z3 was supposed to be the only 2014 flagship that was supposed to get Android N, but unfortunately the Snapdragon 800's GPU doesn't support open GL ES 3.1.
Sony is slow at updating their midrange phones, I agree. But is LG, Samsung or HTC any different?

But Motorola (aka Lenovorola) provides 2 major updates for their phones.

Sony famous for producing over-priced device with under spec.
So, they are dying slowly and steady... changing from Z to X, sooner would be V...etc

yeah it's in the range of specs of J5 2016 which is also a budget phone ...only difference is that E5 is SONY's cheapest phone so it's definitely an entry lvl something that xperia E series are always been , while Samsung has even cheaper phones and with lower specs than J5 ...

Considering how late the M and C series got marshmallow, I guess it's safe to say these phones won't get any updates. The least Sony could've done is provide the monthly security patches, but no. Even the chinese OEMs are doing a better job now. Sony is losing its value other than relying on fanboys of the brand.

I own xperia Z2, but I dont mind because of the update. I am satisfied with marshmallow, the phone works great. when I will buy new phone I will buy xperia 100%. go sony!!

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2016And qualcomm, they dont want to update the driverit's not about qualcomm driver..they said that they will provide it if necessary , and Sony was already working no Z3 nougat even preview was released....google is the one who actually prevents the update .
