Sorry apple but I will switch to another smartphone and I will keep my, Bowers& Wilkins, audio-technica and focal earphones. Adaptor? I dont like to carry something more in my pockets just to help you earn more money. If they dont come back with the jack on iphone 8 , iphone 6 will be the last iphone for me ;). I already started eyeing the LG V20 with 4 DACs.

I wait some tech guy youtuber, to open the iPhone7 and drill and connect smaller audio jack. There is a place for that in the fake speaker hole. Even 3.5'' if modify it shorter.
It would be a hit!!!!

The result is obvious, most people would prefer stays with 3.5mm jack. Knowing this apple still removing the jack!! I hope other manufacturer take benefit from apple moves by not following it.

AnonD-425563, 25 Sep 2016The only people who talks shits about iphone are the ones w... morei used symbian, iOS and android, when i used the iphone, i got really frustrated cuz couldnt share and manage my files as i could with symbian or android, i needed to conects to my pc (just my pc, not any pc..., to make the things worse) and then manage my files, with my 100 bucks nokia i can share everything by bluetooth and dont need a pc to do anything.
ironic, a "smartphone" needing a PC to do all you want...., we are in 2016, c mon....

I think it's great. It honestly was a relic. For a moment I was afraid that Apple won't do it but did it anyhow. Similar past transitions met with equal decries but they were *all* proved successful. The abandonment of floppies, the abandonment of CDs, the death of flash to cite a few.
Sometimes the old has to die to give place for the new. It's always a good idea to abandon old ideas. One port to rule them all I say, and eventually go completely cordless even...

3.5mm jack is great, because can use many kind of earphone and headphone more than this still can use wireless headphones. But lightning just a pre-mature tech.
