A little bit surprised but it's a very late decision from Samsung tbh, the first recall quality assurance failed again to deal with the problem so it's not a failure it's a double failure but I am sure next year Samsung will overcome this, there are no real competitors to them, HTC Sony LG Motorola aren't really that big compared to Samsung sales figures and variety of devices and it's obvious just by the sheer number of devices coming out each month, it's kinda like Toyota losing to GM but will get back in the game after all the jokes aren't funny anymore, it's a really horrific problem that endangers people for sure but it's one model at the end of the day not more, so it's not a huge deal breaker for the s8 cause quality assurance will work twice as hard before getting any mobile out in the s and note lineup after this and if they mess it up again won't be a second chance for them, and ending for a very interesting year for Sammy, they have made the years best phone non the less (s7 edge)

Even i am a Xiaomi fan, is very sad to hear this.

What a mess. The Note 7 fiasco is a lesson in how not to handle a product launch and subsequent meltdown. As a consumer, I have lost trust in Samsung.

Life is really ironic and much much more. And in this case of the Note 7 global issue in particular. Because the Note 7 itself is really a fantastic phone (phablet), beautiful aesthetics, excellent productivity & general top specs, so I really like it! But then unfortunately there is this incredible problem of the battery and that eventually had to end in this way. But as I said (apart from the battery problem, obviously! ) the Note 7 is/was an amazing device!

Does it make note 7 become limited edition phone?

vrvly, 11 Oct 2016Its win for sony and their great batteries. Will be celebra... moreSony batteries are good, but the durability is minus. Its downgraded badly after 1 year, yeah after the warranty void.

Great... Now we will wait another year for Note 8 which will probably come without 3.5mm jack and physical home button, therefore I won't even consider buying it. And the same goes for S8

does anyone else realised that galaxy note 8 actually existed? it's an old 8 inch tablet..
(well, actually it spelled as note 8.0 technically, but when we pronounce, still read as note 8 isn't it? who will pronounce the "point zero" behind, lol)
same goes to the next gen zenfone, if name as zenfone 4, it suddenly becomes the 1st gen zenfone 4 with 4inch screen. LOL

Sad ending to an otherwise great phone if it wasn't randomly going up in flames. Any owners who refuses to return it will be people we should all try to avoid as much as possible until these idiots wise up and exchange it or get a refund.

Owners shouldn't keep it. You are only rewarding Samsung for their faults by rushing a product that didn't need to be rushed at all. Boycott Samsung phones until they get their act together. This was a complete failure on their part for quality assurance. They don't deserve our money right now.

In less than six months, a better phone will come around. People don't need to wait that long. Let go of the Note7 and move on. Safety first for you and everyone around you. Spontaneous combustion can happen in seconds just by doing nothing to the phone. Don't take that risk or reward Samsung for their own carelessness by keeping it.
