Samsung has produced too many smartphones between last year and now, ranging from j1 to z0, I think they should take it easy and build on perfection. Competiting with Apple may cost them much damage and loss. I wish you quick bouncing back!

Everybody is talking about battery.
It is not the real problem.
Battery is fine.
It is confirmed by the second batch of
phones with replaced batteries witch caught fire.
The problem is a design flaw of the case.
In some circumstances at a mechanical stress (bend/pressure)it shorten the battery and/or motherboard.
When Samsung acknowledge that is beyond any fix (only by completely redesigning
the case/motherboard)they stop production.
All I can say is "you're the best" to head managers from the departments:Design/Test/QC.
Which manage to f**k-up in such a way
that is beyond repair.
PS.
I-fixit will be acquired by Samsung soon
because they notice the screw witch goes thru battery into the motherboard.
Shamesung short story...
I-fixit...oh no...still fire....stop production....stop....stop

Lex79, 11 Oct 2016Agreed the Note 4 was the best in the perhaps now dead Note... moreTrue, but i think Samsung did this because when people compared iphone with Note 4, one was total metal, the other was platic or plastic metal, and they just hated their phones called "cheap plastic". Their phones feel premium now , but it came at the expense of features like removable battery.

I'm glad that Samsung had the balls to take the right decision. Now they should work the problem, list the tessons learned and apply them in every PM track.
Let's hope that they will handle all current and pending owners with regards knowing that most of them are still believes. Maybe it's time to stop thinking that a product lifecycle is limited to only one year and to stop thinking that you can reinvent the business each year...
Let's also hope the employees won't get sacked unnecessary.

Zach, 11 Oct 2016I'll give you a Note with 7 points why Samsung should have ... moreYou skipped #6, just like Samsung. Bad luck man! I see your point, but I think you are overestimate people. Sure, some of them are smart enough to notice the battery swelling, but a lot of them won't. A lot of people just buy them and use them not caring much about what's going on inside of it. And then we have some real dummies, like that dude in US, who left the phone in full sun, on the dashboard of his car, charging. That aside, yeah...I see your point, especially the one that's missing ;)
