Interestingly, some are looking to the Google Pixel phones as a replacement.

They should switch to Xiaomi, Huawei, Sony, ZTE and Meizu. Or just wait for Nokia's next big thing.

The loss of customers is not directly caused by the failure of Note 7 alone. Most likely, Samsung released many models and insufficient effort for its flagship models such as poor software support and quality control. Honestly, it is very hard for Note's owners to find other brands because of S Pen and AMOLED display.

Samsung should be considering reduce the number of models and take more effort toward its flagship models (better software support and QC).

The fact that people really think Samsung is dead because of this is sad, it shows how emotional people are. Use your heads, the Note 7 has zero real competition, when the 8 drops it will sale with a vengeance...duh

You know the world does not revolve around the Americans. 40% from America is such a small value compared to the users world wide.

At least Samsung show their responsibility to recall and stop all their failed and controversial product, Note 7. Imagine if this fiasco happen with a brand like Xiaomi, Oneplus, Oppo, etc... (excluding Apple,LG,...)

The very best comment for this entire event.. if there's an alternative people will have kicked the Samsung Galaxy brand by now for sure... Sure, they lost the value for the entire Samsung Galaxy brand but yes my question is also yours So " What to do?!where to go? "

Once manufacturers start putting Super Amoled displays on their smartphones like Samsung does I'm sold .. just saying

can understand ppl being pissed. perhaps selling old phone etc, causing lots of problems with friends and work I can imagine having to swop phones etc perhaps spending all money on the phone having to return then wait then return again.....
I felt sorry but now I am happy I never got the note 7 in my country. Hopefullt they will perfect note8 for next year max same size as note7. And hopefully they wont get cheap again this time, karma is a bitch samsung. You shouldn't have cheaped out!

I can understand, but if not Samsung then what? The smartphone market is stagnating, the Pixel would have been an interesting promise for a sweet spot device but it is criminally overpriced, while with the iPhones you might as well get the 2 year old iPhone 6 and likely not miss out on anything while saving the headphone jack and a little of device footprint (the 6 was a tiny bit slimmer and lighter than the 6s and 7 and felt better).

Personally I have a breaking down S6 and am beginning to look for a replacement, but I don't see any that would feel like an upgrade, and I am afraid
/hoping the S8 will bring the biggest shake to the market again.

I was looking at LG, but their last design I liked was the G2, HTC is the least pleasant Android experience to me and overpriced at that, while Sony dropped their Z series. Besides, I wouldn't find anything there as I am never going back to LCDs.
I wouldn't want to be caught with a Pixel since it's really anterribly looking device, and the pricing is insane. What to do?!where to go? I'd be happy with my S6 as switching to about anything wouldn't feel like an upgrade now even, despite it being a almost 2 year old device, but the USB port on that one is broken and I can only charge it wirelessly lol.

People get scared very easily. It is not like Samsung waited for someone to die because of the Note 7 to recall it. I will get the N8 (and I bet Samsung will double check twice the batteries) because the Note series is unique in the smartphone market, and this, no one can say I am wrong. It is funny to see that the Note series is basically the S series but with a wireless pen. Show me a competitor offering functions the Note 7 offers. Or the Note 5. Even 4. Hard right? Just a wireless pen made everything different.
