No, the Xiaomi Mi Mix doesn't actually have a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio

No, it's not 91.3%, but that doesn't temper our love for the impressive phone.

Appreciate the innovation. This is something even Apple and Samsung has not achieved. Just because of a tiny difference, you write an article like this?

Julliard, 27 Oct 2016Screen made by Sharp. I have nothing else to say. Xiaomi us... moreignorance at it's best... so you think Apple Samsung Sony manufacture everything in their phones !!!

Julliard, 27 Oct 2016Screen made by Sharp. I have nothing else to say. Xiaomi us... moreIt's not *COPYING*, the same way people is not *COPYING* samsung cameras, LG batteries and PlayStore software. They're *USING* it to make a phone. The difference is, Xiaomi obviously got permission (In patent/royalty fees) when they bought the screens from Sharp.

My fell when the actual device is prettier than the render.

tech.pro, 27 Oct 2016Why do you write this post if you hide the actual screen to... moreI agree. Looked at the supplied image in photoshop and got 84.9% comparing the areas. I compared with rectangles though, so taking into account the curved screen and bezel it's probably closer to 86%.

Screen made by Sharp. I have nothing else to say. Xiaomi users, where are you hiding? Try to tell me Xiaomi not copying Sharp.

I think the bezels on the official pic were a little bit too much, or in this case too few. But I think for handling, the side bezels are much more important. In a shop, I held an Xperia XA (5") and a X Compact (4,6") and I'm not kidding, but the XA felt smaller while having a bigger screen and of course a longer body.

Why are you trying so hard to criticize this phone on just a small thing? Doesnt make any difference if screen size 91.3% or 90%.

This phone has a pixel pitch of 70.5 um... so exact screen dimensions would be:

                    Height: 2040*70.5 = 143.82
                    Width: 1080*70.5 = 76.14

Dividing these by the product dimension (158.8*81.9) yields a ratio of 84.20%.

That is the first phone I have seen cross 80%, so kudos for that, but please Xiaomi, don't take everyone for a fool.

tech.pro, 27 Oct 2016Why do you write this post if you hide the actual screen to... moreBecause while it's very obvious, putting an exact percentage on it is speculative. So unlike others they have left it open until they have factual data from the real device.

What does it mean that not 91% but near of it ? Are you searching for and criticizing small limitation like a piece of sand covering the elephant like good things ?

Why do you write this post if you hide the actual screen to body ratio..? Was it around 90%? Then why did you post this? Just for sake of fake criticism? Not good!!

Thank you GSMA for correction and taking heed of my observation.

It's still a big improvement. Measuring the picture I get 85.3% display/device ratio which is 10% better than whats common. Everybody wants a big display. No one wants a big device.

Small correction to point out for the topic (if GSMA pays attention)

It's MI MIX and not Mi Max.

its a beautiful phone..not the render..the actual phone looks good...and i would like to try it out too..but for any gaming that need 2 hands will probably be implemented only with a controller..if they sell that as a clipon...it doesnt actually need to have buttons..just 2 handles and a clip or a magnet will do fine..speaking from experience with the s7 edge..watching videos on mx play sometimes causes sudden jerks because of accidental edge touching....i have gone past it using the top and bottom bezels..so ...

It is an Android phone, you don't expect to get what you are paying for but Xiaomi is doing better than most Android OEM, with Samsung and OnePlus, you don't get nearly what you paid for.
