No, the Xiaomi Mi Mix doesn't actually have a 91.3% screen-to-body ratio

Android app MR.Phone shows that this phone has 84.29% screen to body ratio. I already noticed that when it appeared in this app.

Ignoring the curved corners, and protrusions contributing to the phone dimensions, the ratio can be calculated as Screen Length(in mm)=6.4/sqrt(17^2+9^2)*25.4*17. Screen width(in mm)=6.4/sqrt(17^2+9^2)*25.4*9. Ratio = (screen length)*(screen width)/158.8/81.9 giving 0.84 or 84%.

rounded corners of display is also an evolution that i have never seen before and is amazing for me even more than bezel-less design...

Breaksense, 27 Oct 2016This. You measured the active pixels of the screen, but if ... moreYou got it! But still that doesn't make any difference because the device should look good only when it is on.
Unfortunately though this is not the case here.

I think you did the right thing: pointing out the false claim of the company, but clarifying that this phone is a wonder, nevertheless.
I have bought Xiaomi phones - for me, my family and friends - for a while now, being the first the Redmi 1S. If there is something I have learn from Xiaomi, I would highlight one things: never fully believe those numbers, facts and images you see on their presentation and ads.
Their products are good, but not that good. And the software department usually has some problems, for example, for some time, many Xiaomi phones took blurred photos in every situation.
The Mi4i phone is the worst example, where Xiaomi completely abandoned the phone.

Whatever it may be,but it is at least not iPhone replica, which we come across every next day (meizu, oppo, vivo and gang)
Nice attempt and see how it turns out in real world experience.
It's a risk by Xiaomi by not playing safe with the current trend in design ( dual camera , iPhoneish looks and all). But new paths are always etched by someone who dared to do something risky.
I respect Xiaomi for one thing- they never hype their phones like One+ but rather underplay.
All the best to Xiaomi.

Speaking of "cheating" in screen-to-body ratio, you all should check out LeEco phones, compare their advertising image and real phone. They're biggest liar IMO, LOL.

To me, this is still very much acceptable in terms of bezels. Looks great regardless. Perhaps they realized, that the construction won't be sturdy enough, and they've put a bit more of frame, to bump up the toughness of the phone.

It's nice but not as impressive as the render. The bezel on the real image looks twice as thick as the render one.

I buy phones by only aspect: screen-to-body ratio. Who care if it has 91 or 85%, point is - that all branded phones until now are fail by making such phone.

i would buy a Xiaomi over a Samsung and Apple even if the the ratio was 50%. I am not paying faulty iphones or samsung phones with an absurd price. currently Chinese Smartphone makers are simply doing the right thing.

hansip87, 27 Oct 2016Unfortunately such phone is not aesthetically perfect. If y... moreI personally like the little chin that it has. With this I know where the bottom is so I know what side to find the power or volume buttons or the headphone port. Going totally borderless presents more problems that first need to be worked out before it becomes practical.

To those wondering palm rejection has been in MIUI for years and it is extremely good (Tiny demo in the video above).

I believe the overall point is being missed here. People keep repeating words like 'impractical' & using Samsung's curved screen implementation as an example of unwieldiness, as if to say "If the S7 edge/Note 7 has unintentional touch issues imagine this....".
But like Samsung, I don't believe it was Xiaomi's intention to be 'practical'. Smartphone manufacturers like Samsung & now Xiaomi are trying to push the boundaries & concepts of the smartphone industry. Hence, why Xiaomi is calling it a 'concept' phone, with VERY limited availability anywhere else but China. This is simply an example of building upon & the furthering of innovativion in technology. Which should be appreciated & applauded rather than met with skepticism simply based off whether it is thought to be 'practical' or not.

Are you sure the included case is not on the phone in the photo on the right side? IT sure looks like it is on it to me.
