I'm also possess of by Samsung for their update policy.
That's why I recommend you to get an iPhone if you do not care about Flash 10+. If you want Flash swallow your pride and buy a good second hand SGS with Froyo already installed. Just do not buy or get any product made or promoted by Samsung even if it's free. Also bash them to your friends, colleagues, etc. Let's declare them WAR!

Do your homework, go check out Android handset and see how outdated they are now. Look at the number of Android device getting push out every year. Do you honestly think the manufacturer would care about one out of 1x devices they sold last year?

To all the Android user if you haven't got this yet. Good luck buying a new handset every 6 month to keep up with the latest Android update and feature. Or you could use a custom firmware created by some fat kid in their mom basement that's buggy as hell. Anybody remember HTC Hero that release about a year and a half ago? That poor thing didn't even get a flash update despite the manufacture heavily advertise flash coming soon when they are selling the devices. That was my first and last Android device. I sold that little SOB 2 month after purchase and I never look back. I'm very happy with my 3GS even now. After 1 years plus, Crapple still push out regular update and the new game and apps just keep coming.
If you want a device that could last you at least 2 years buy an iPhone. Or you could buy a device with fancy UI but get forgotten by the manufacturer half a year later. Oh and about the restriction Crapple put on iPhone, that can be break easily with jailbreak.

Samsung is preparing its own OS "Bada" just like Nokia is preparing its own "MeeGo" and blackberry with its OS and Microsoft with its WP7, the one can't depend on google's products which gets updated faster than a clock (Android, Chrome browser, Earth, Search engine) and in the end it is a "minor" update! what a mess

I think all manufacturers know that Android will fail at some point (in fact, it's already near to fail. look at the apps which doesn't work on all phones and for some versions), that's the main reason behind Bada and MeeGo.

but don't forget Samsung is known to suck in supporting their customers.

So good for you bro, but unfortunately the majority will still complain because of their own mistakes! So what can we do about it, I guess the best we can do is share some piece of advice, and hopefully there will still be few people that will eventually learn their lesson and not repeat the same mistake all over again.

This is one of the best posts I have read in the recent times in GSMA.

I can find several Trollers in Wave, SGS, N8, Desire & Optimus One pages as I visit these frequently..

These venters wont do thier home work well before hand; they go buy some mobile based on popularity or on what was told by retailers; they get disappointed after that; they come here and bark!!

These are some of the comments by such idiots:

                                    1. Wave is not yet upgraded to 1.2 while Android got 2.2 (silly issue if u ask me..it is just been 8 months that the first BADA handset got released and u expect a new OS version every 3 months from Sammy .. man it is SAMMY..)

                                    2. Wave's still camera is poor comapred to Nokia's N86 cam (good comaprision ;-)

                                    3. SGS not getting Fryo even though Desire go it (u should know the update history of Sammy before u put so much amount in it)

                                    4. Desire's video and speaker quality are horrible. I regret buying this !! (u now how good HTC is while providing multimedia)

                                    5. Optimus One not getting Android 2.2 (u buy a cheap (price wise) Andriod from a company that is least known for software updates..and then blast it later..so funny)

                                    6. BADA app store sucks..(FLASH FLASH FLASH .. latest and hottest news of the year :)

                                    7. My X10 battery is the fastest to drain..(SE smart phones have been like that all the time..esp with Symbian and Andriod)

                                    6. Nokia N8's UI sucks..it is laggy.. it restarts..(God.. give me a break..these are well known stuff..everybody who used a Nokia-Symbian will know that)
