For all those who can't read english. If I may remind you that the headings for this article is about Nokia N8 sales nearing 4 million and not Nokia in general sales near 4 million. So stop talking about low and mid range Nokia phones and face the fact that the N8 has sold almost 4 million.

Fact that Nokia N8 has sold over 4 million is not because of its inferior Symbian OS, but its Incredible Camera and Hardware. Android Market is growing month by month and same with the iPhone.
The fact that people being fan boys are just blind. Just accept the truth and move on. I was a Nokia User, S60v3, S60v5, and S^3. I find the Android OS to be more powerful in every way, that's why i switched to HTC.
Nokia is still number 1 in market share because of its mid-low end devices. There high-end devices aren't good enough in todays standards. You can't have low RAM and slow processor even if it's light OS. You need more RAM and faster processor for better apps and web browsing.
I'm not trolling, I'm just saying that some people need a slap on the face to see the reality. Fan boys of all different OSes, just stop trolling.
Android is powerful but fail at multitask
iOS is well polished but lack some simple functions
Symbian has the functionality but it's not user friendly.

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2011Symbian will still lead the market share. this android and ... moreAgree...
One of my friend is working on the Meego platform for Nokia devices.. Even though the platform is in its early stages and need 3-4 months to be ready to release in the form N900's successor, I was told there'll be few surprises when it's launched.. Moreover, Meego devices will be categorised as a Mobile Computer just like N900..

See Nokia's market share will even grow when Meego comes out.
Even Eldar said that Nokia Meego is better than the Vanilla Meego. BTW HD2 just got vanilla meego

Im glad owner of N8 and i wouldnt change it for any other smartphone on the market. Nokia critics usually mention lower display resolution of N8, lower CPU frequency and Symbian as negatives. I can agree with first two, even if lower display resolution doesn't mean that much lower pixel density, since N8's display size (3.5") is considerably lower then 4.0" or 4.3" displays used on most high-end phones today. However, Symbian^3 is now MUCH more comfortable then old Symbian (except web-browser, wich has barely changed since old times - u can still use Opera Mobile though).
===
On the other side, how many smartphones u know with such a great camera (with extra large senzor) and Xenon flash, HDMI out (with Dolby Digital Plus), USB on-the-go feature, 720p DivX/Xvid/mkv playback out of the box, FM transmitter, free lifetime offline navigation, great AMOLED display covered with Gorilla glass, tough anodized aluminum casing and really original (not an iPhone clone) design ? Remember, its not about raw power, its about what can u do with your smartphone...

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2011read on few posts that the replaces devices also does the s... moreI would recommend it. I've had the phone since mid-October and I believe it's the best phone I've owned. I've never had any issues you stated, never had it replaced. But I can't wait for them to re-do the stock keyboard, man. I got Swype the day after I dealt with the stock keyboard. Other than that, I love the phone.
