They remove it because 3.5mm jack doesn't have enough functionality. Listen or record sound. With USB type C you can do much more. But they could include 2 USBs instead of just one. One for music and one for charging.

removal of 3.5 mm headphone jack??? soon other company will copy it and remove the headphone jack, they just want to remove the wired headphones and replace it with wireless headphones, maybe they will promote a wireless headphone on galaxy s8 like apple did on the iphone 7.

It's planned obsolescence, like the non-removable battery. Due to the lack of 3.5mm jack, the USB port will wear off much, much faster. Manufacturers want to force consumers to buy new phone earlier than they would have done otherwise, and they want to sell more products like an adapter or new headphones with USB plug or bluetooth headphones.
