All I read on this forum is people complaining that a manufacture, mainly Apple, is not being innovative enough. An innovative solution comes & a vast majority of you dump on it like its the end of the world & you will never buy said phone again! Look at what a common Smartphone can do & see if you can think of a way to make it more innovative before dumping on new ideas!

I didn't think that touch screens would change much & I held on to my Blackberry Bold 9500 for as long as I could as I preferred physical keyboards more than a touch screen but now I can not use a physical keyboard as I am quicker on the touch screen. Move with the times, accept that things will change! How many of you will dump over the next big thing, more than likely foldable/bendable screens when they come out?

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016wow, next they will copy the "glossy" jet black color optionYour joke would be funny or relevant if it weren't for the fact that Moto Z already started the trend of no-headphone jack smartphones before iphones did.

Iphones haven't had anything original since iphone 3gs...it's the same boring concept (wrapped in some ugly body) designed for grannies or 4-year old girls x

I think that they will remove headphone jack cause at last unpacked they took a jab at apple saying that the note 7 has a headphone jack which is the best feature...

              Copysung confirmed!!!! Welcome Nokia!!!

Guys!, we (consumers) should have our word listened,
We can boycott every device without 3.5 mm jack and stop that awful trend.

Do you know that The iPhone 7 audio quality actually *degraded* from iPhone 6s when using the 3.5 converter/dongle.
Do you know that there is no quality upgrade (even a tiny difference) between when using usb port comparing to 3.5 mm?
3.5mm is important for listening when charging and we should not let that go!

I'm not surprised as iPhone has always been the standard of all smart phones.

If Apple fall in to the hole, Samsung will follow.

Dumb move! I hope this rumour isn't true.

That's pathetic. No seriously, that's absolutely crap step from Samdung. Finally, I can say them Bye Bye for all the bad reasons.

I'd rather have those dual cameras than having no headphone jack at all

Anonymous, 07 Dec 2016It's planned obsolescence, like the non-removable battery. ... moreI think you are total right. And 3,5 mm jack is much more robust than USB port. Definitely usage of USB port for listening of music would tear down USB port over a time. So only quality acceptable solution would be to switch to wireless headphones, which mean, another investition, which is not small considering that music listeners usually have higher quality demands.

I think that this is a bad idea. At least for all peoples that listen music on their devices and use high quality or below average headphones, which are equipped usually with 3,5mm jack.
This adapter thing is not practical.
But anyway, samsung is on my black list for years, after experience with several their phones, (S3 mini, S3, S5 mini), their performance degradation over a time is just disastrous. After 2 years most of their devices are unusable, unless you install CM which return back most of performances.

Its very simple, by removing headphones jack you start a new revenue stream from selling wireless headphones and converters. If someone is capable of buying 800$ phone he surely wouldn't mind paying 100$ more for headphones for good experience. People don't buy flagship for configurations or speed or for any one feature in particular they buy it for experience which is the Biggest focus area and strength of apple and it seems now Samsung is also following the same path. Good for them.
