HTC U Ultra is now official: Sapphire glass, Snapdragon 821, 5.7" QHD display

12 January 2017
UareU is one catchy slogan, but we tend to like our 3.5mm jacks - none to be found on the Ultra.

Sorry HTC...u lost me on the 3000mAh battery capacity. When will this company going to learn..for years now i/we having been singing about the need for huge battery capacity and minimal bezels on HTC phones. We are now in 2017, many OEMs are going to be addressing these issues yet HTC brings out a big Phablet and can only put a meager 3000mAh battery...gush i am tired and they are slowly loosing their fans. So for these U devices...nothing to see here for me.
Next up LG..lets see what u got with the G6 and for Sammy the S8. Or will i be forced to fall back on the Mate 9.

I'm a big HTC fan from the original desire to the One. Currently have M9. Only use the camera without flash as biggest weakness. Audio superb. Neither of these new phones gets me excited at all. Camera, Audio, headphone socket, Speed, storage and battery priorities for me. Maybe I'm not the consumer they are after but I do buy the brand. If OnePlus delivered on audio then that's where I would spend my money next time. HTC so sorry that our romance may soon be over.

Less- will never be more- on a smartphone. Any battery below 4000 mAh is unacceptable for that price.

Phone makers need to stop with this removal of the audio jack. I refuse to buy a phone without one. Quit following Apple.

Until bluetooth can truly deliver lossless audio, STOP IT.

We just wanted a phone with a decent spec. for the price and this doesn't make the grade. The battery size almost guarantees I would be lucky to get a whole day out of it. Not quite sure what's funny about that? Never mind though it looks nice!

And next comes the part where HTC fails to market or price the device properly.

They remove the jack just to implement a feature Samsung implemented since JB: ApadptSound/Soundalive. But their phones and tablets still have the good old jack.

What is wrong with phone manufacturers these days?
You can't enforce what you want on a phone, the U Ultra lacks a lot of important things, big battery, stereo speakers, waterproofing, no 6gb ram (or at least an option for that), 3.5mm jack.
Who would be stupid enough to buy this piece of garbage?

All phone manufactures: STOP REMOVING 3.5 mm JACK PLEASE! That's totally a stupid move!

Why Snapdragon 821? It should get 835 and battery should be minimum 4500 mAh. Also RAM Should be 6GB like OP 3T.
