AnonD-112, 08 Feb 2011You might be right as I'm not a mobile tech, but I have bee... moreI hope so my friend. The smartphone market is still young and the vast majority of people are still using featurephones. There is still a good chance for MeeGo to gain a foot hold. I'm sorry to come off as brash. I used to be a Nokia fan but their slow reaction to iOS and Android turned me off. Now, they are the underdogs.

I do hope Elop fires those guys who sabbotaged/let Nokia down. I also hope that Nokia reinvent itself as a multi-platform company. They already have the hardware right but the CPU, and Ram. If the N8 came with a Snapdragon and 512 ram and loaded with Android, it will surely beat the sales of Galaxy S and guarantees Nokia's place on top.

You might be right as I'm not a mobile tech, but I have been using N8 for quite sometime now and it's performing very well. It loads application very quickly and it runs more then 20 apps at the same time with no problem. I honestly don't know what you are talking about.

The Nokia N8 is priced at $599 AU in my country, and it is very cheap compared to other phones like HTC and Apple And Motorola. I'm sure that the E7's current price is a pre-order price which all brands do but they eventually drop the price, Not Apple thou. (lol).

Look the way I see is that you have no right in telling people what to buy, Like a lot of people see Apple IOS as a crappy os and has too many limitation, alot of people see it as the ultimate OS.

Everyone has his taste, and I honestly like the E7, I have the E71 as well and it's a superb phone.

Hopefully Meego will satisfy your needs Anonymous.

AnonD-112, 08 Feb 2011You are obviously an amateur when it comes to Mobile phones... moreBlah blah blah

The hardware is nowhere near ground breaking and the OS, while capable, sucks at the execution. The CPU is outdated and no matter how light weight Symbian might be, it still needs raw processing power to quickly load heavy websites.

This crap just sucks for its cost. It should have been priced cheaper than the N8. Nokia is so audacious to put a premium pricetag on something that sucks. Imagine how much the N9 will cost if this trend continious. Nokia needs a reality check.

AnonD-1082, 08 Feb 2011lol I'm glad people are realizing that Nokia isn't the shit... moreYou are obviously an amateur when it comes to Mobile phones. You don't need a Dual Core processor to make calls or send a text message, People are forgetting what phones are about.
Once again, Symbian doesn't require a hungry processor running under the hood, or 1GB of RAM. It's a low resourceful OS which is build for functionality and Multitasking.
The price might be high yes, but don't forget that you are getting too much in the BOX and build in apps, (Ovi Maps for example)
Not the best Camera, I do admit. But it's not targeting social people, photo taking people (they have the N8), it's for business people who hardly use the Camera Anyways.
Nokia makes a handset for every class of people, from rich (Vertu) to poor the touch and type series.
You people just worry about tech when in reality most of you can't afford any of it.

[deleted post]lol I'm glad people are realizing that Nokia isn't the shit it used to be. They are now a shadow of their old self and wtf were they thinking to price an outdated hardware like it's a dual core? They are so out of touch to charge so much for this crap.

Only if this was the same sliding mechanism like the N900 and had the N8's camera. It would be the ultimate phone.
I love qwerty phones, but the camera is disappointing, I'm sure it will still be better than my E71, but ONLY that's only if it had a better camera, but I'm stuck between the qwerty keyboard and the 12mp Camera.

either this is a chinese kirf or a new nokia phone
note that the keyboard layout is identical to the n97 mini's keyboard. Also there are call and end keys and the menu key is placed at corner instead of center

Finally a proper business phone. Was getting tired of manufacturers trying to outshine each other with faster cpu's instead of taking care of tings that matters. Functionality and battery life.

Nokia remains strong in 1 area...

voice quality, even in noisiest streets your voice can be heard clearly by the listener and same when you listen to him as Nokia always has the advantage of loudest in-call voice.

By reading GSMA review, I'm not impressed by the Optimus 2X (latest android phone) when it comes to voice quality, I hope other Tegras 2 won't be as bad.

Nokia will be mad if they drop MeeGo. Anybody can manufacture hardware, its software that matters. Whdt if Microsoft pulls the plug in the future when WP7 has gained momentum? The best they can do is to adopt multiple platforms, MeeGO WP7, plus Android and Symbian for low ends. With this strategy, they will only invest massively in getting to tinker with android, which is free anyway, meego is almost done, symbian is known territory and WP7 expertise will come from microsoft. with this approach customers will have a very wide choice of options! And Nokia will be flexible and outstanding in the near future when Indian, Chinese, Brazillian etc hardware running on android start to haunt companies that put all their eggs in the android basket!

I have loved all my Nokia's from the 3310 to the N900. The Nokia hardware was proud, bold and very geeky in a good way. However, I have lost all hope and fate in the rubbish i see these days. Horrible screen resolution, useless OS, 680Mhz processor? Some people argue that we dont need 1ghz on a phone but if other phones have it, y not nokia?. And whats up with the hinge? you dont need that angle on a handheld, except it was made for the desk. Im sick of waiting for you Nokia. You have lost the smartphone race.
