worst fingerprint placement i've ever seen, i've carried huawei mate 8, sony xperia xz, and oneplus 3T, this place next to the camera is the worst, it should be below where we can reach it effortlessly

I've given up on the S line. The same specs again in a different body and with a higher price. You can get far better than that.

if most of these rumours are true i wont be buying an S8. i think samsung are running out of new ideas, i mean how big are the screens going to be by the time we get to s10. And where does this leave the galaxy note series? oh i almost forgot that has a stylus.

On back cover the printed logo says SAMSUNSExactly! Really surprising more people didn't notice this.
Nothing to see here, folks. These pictures, as well as most of the information accompanying them, are as fake as it gets.
End of story.

disappointing!
Maybe the S9 with the 7nm SoC would be better... Only if it could record 4K@60.
But I don't think that the 7nm process would be ready in time for the S9, because 2 months ago Samsung said that it would be ready at the end of 2018. I don't believe that within 2 months things have suddenly started to look much better.

I'm glad that this is a fake, the text on the back reads "Samsuns" XD
The fingerprint scanner placement is awful. Either integrate it into the display or keep the home button with fingerprint scanner.
Just a tiny 3000 mAh battery on the 5.7" would be way too small. The S7 edge is "only" 5.5" (great size btw) but has 3600 mAh. The new 5.7" shouldn't have any less, rather more, and the bigger 6.2" should have at least 4000 mAh.
On the display size, 5.7" and 6.2" sounds weird. I think 5.5" (as on the S7 edge) and 6.0" (as on the Galaxy A9) would be better.
4GB ram would be okay for the 5.7", but for the 6.2", 6GB would probably be expected.
The backside design looks very uninspired.
If there should be any truth in this leak (I hope not), especially regarding the tiny 3000 mAh battery, then the listed price would be way too high.

AnonD-197158, 26 Jan 2017Looks off to me, the finger print scanner is wonky and the ... moreJust camera perspective bending USB-C port shape. This can't be microUSB since Samsung phones has bended part of microUSB port pointed upward. The last letter is clearly "G". This leak source is known for being very accurate. Now I'am damn surprised. Why such specs? Why to have both versions as big or bigger than Note phones? But still remember new, smaller chipset= lower energy comsuption. If Samsung ditch TouchWiz completely and go for near-stock Android it wouldn't be that bad for battery since SUPER AMOLEDs are power-efficient. Samsung should rather conpensate this by other features, otherwise it's just a S6 remake, take 2.

This seems a bit wonky to me... I mean, just look at where the fingerprint reader is! Half of the display is pressure-sensitive. Why not just go and make the rest of the screen pressure-sensitive, and do we even need it in the first place? And what's with the small battery sizes, these are phones with much, much bigger screens, couldn't they at least add a little more? I don't know, I think I'll just buy the LG G6, they seem like they're gonna play it safer this year, while still managing to match the S8 (Google Assistant compared to Bixby, same awesome bezelless display...). I also would've liked to see the back design changed, this two year old design language is getting repetitive.

I'm not hating, but what a monumental disappointment. I was so so looking forward to this. Instead we've got the same camera, the same ram, the same storage (hell, even the S6 came with 64gb base), the same display unit. They've moved the fingerprint sensor to the back, which is worse (anyone ever tried one, it's a camera smudging nightmare). What, you think ripping off 3D touch 18 months later is going to impress anyone?
Then rumour has it, they're increasing the price by £100.00. For what Samsung? For what? Oh you've got a new chipset, so does everyone else. It's called Qualcomm.
What makes me want to spend £685.00 on this?? I'm deadly serious. Why would I bother; an identical phone with less bezel. I don't expect change for changes sake, but this smacks of a derivative hatchet job. This was your chance Samsung, and like the Note 7.. .you quite literally blew it.

18.5:9? That's super tall, especially for a phone with such curved edges. Why is it necessary? That and the power/volume layout looks like it might be the same as all samsung phones, which is a personal hatred of mine as I find using the volume buttons awkward.
Couldn't they just have gone with 17:9? With curved edges the phones dimensions would have been similar to 18:8 (2:1) without the screen being super tall.
