Elop is getting strange ideas, first of all using a bought OS like WP7 as well as doing some development on Symbian won't reduce Nokia's operating cost.
And the idea of standing out and not looking the same as other phone makers, WP7 insists that all phones have the same UI appearance and almost the same hardware due to the high requirements, so how exactly is Nokia standing out with WP7 ? Using MeeGo would have been a much better idea seeing as Nokia thinks Android will have problems in the future.
And most importantly i seriously don't think Nokia has the time for making a transition, sure it has a lot of brand loyalty and market share, but these will take a huge bump if immediate actions are not taken.
Personally I think Nokia was better of applying some Android ideas to its Symbian^3 & delivering regular, and significant, updates as Nokia promised to do so in the first place.

Android is the fastest growing OS! All the biggest mobile phone manufacturers chose Android, and Nokia chose WP7! :P

Who is helping whome here ? Who's gonna bail out whome.
I mean both nokia and windows os are struggling at the moment.
What arr we gonna get by combing these two? Is it harbinger for the another disaster in waiting? Only time will tell.

            R.I.P Nokia

Actually I will never ever think that Nokia killed itself but Microsoft did. Nobody knows how much Elop got money from Microsoft for the stupid idea to stop all in-house software development in Nokia for the sake of plausible Windows future.

Think, Nokia just sold its core strengths and soul, ups, no, Nokia just KILLED those for fun, for the mad idea to start making Windows mobiles sometime in the future.

THIS IS JUST NOT NOKIA-KIND-OF-BUSINESS!!, everybody knows it. Nokia's management got such big money or promises of that from Microsoft that nothing else matters. I dont get millions for making clever choices, but still my idea would have been better: Try out Windows first, with one phone model, then increase investment in that platform, and NOT just kill Symbian and Meego!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nokia may not even have a WP7 unit out this year while Android is growing at a tremendous speed. You think Nokia's competition will just be sitting around waiting? Think again! How can it be successful when it currently don't have anything not even a working prototype to show off? If you want cutting edge, right now, then there's only ONE choice... it's Android.

Nokia is now a puppet of Microsoft. It's not the Nokia that it used to be. You have to thank Trojan Elop for that.

You guys act as if you are the smartest in the world and know everything. None of you know what's going inside Nokia, but you still keep blaming the CEO. I own IP4 and now planning to have both apple and nokia products.

No one forced you guys to buy Nokia WP 7 smart phones, there's a lot of customers like me who's gonna buy these products. So if you don't want just don't buy it, stop posting bullshits and shut your mouths.

You know what, the guys who hated Apple IP4 these days were not Nokia lovers, they hated American products, so supported nokia and hated IP4. The fault of the CEO is that he once was a Microsoft employee.

If you are true Nokia lovers, keep supporting it, wait till the release of WP7 smartphones. Cheers Nokia!

Nokia a... more"Jo Harlow, Nokia's new Executive VP of Smart Devices, stepped on stage and made a few interesting points. First and most importantly, she laid the schedule for the first Nokia phone running Windows Phone 7. "My boss has told me he would be much happier if that time was in 2011", she hinted."

They're not even sure that they will have a WP7 device this year. Android is not going to stop selling and wait for them. Trojan's first priority is to beat Android? Good luck with that.
