Stephen Elop it's a Troy horse for Nokia from Microsoft.
And this it is reason, why i after 13 years (since 1998) using only Nokia phones, from now i will find refugee under Android umbrella...

BTW on my next target to buy:
Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II
LG Optimus 3D P920
HTC Desire HD2
I like them coz they has almost all specification.
They almost similar by specifications and i will choose which phone to buy, by camera lens quality. Just waiting when i will see them all in shops to compare camera lenses and take photos. Also waiting when these camera phones photos compare become available on GSM Arena website. For me best example it is Nokia N8 lens and photos.
On these phones only i don't like screen size, 4.3 inch like small tablet PS... .

This is bull****...all that symbian needs is a hardware upgrade (and the latest phones by nokia seem to be heading in the right direction; 800mhz and 512 mb of ram should make even a badly optimised software platform run half-decently) and a good visual do-over (and SPB showed that it can be done;Nokia just needs to take that to the next level and embed it in every part of the OS).
True, they do seem to have some problems with the software being incompatible with new hardware like hi-res screens, but so did Android not too long ago and they got over it.
Truth be told, the N8 is a magnificent phone, but when you compare it with the new breed of droids you see that in almost every respect it's half the hardware so it should be half the price...
And what has happened to S60v3? I'm still stuck with an n70 because i couldn't find a half-decent s60v3 candybar phone. It's like they built S60v5 on top of the old v3 and the new platform is crap, but they almost ditched the old (excelent) platform. (I am picky and I didn't go for the N79 because of the high sar level; but a successor to that phone never did hit the market). I use a 5230 for web browsing and as a mobile modem and I'm half-happy with it (a ram upgrade and 600mhz worth of processor would make this the bee's knees), but there still is a demand for smart, non-touch candybar phones and Touch and Type doesn't cut it...

Definitely i will NOT BUY ANY NOKIA PHONE if it will be with crappy, MOST boring, useless Microsoft Windows Phone 7 OS!
I just wondering why Nokia not choose HP Web OS???
And I without doubt agree with others that Nokia and CEO president Stephen Elop it's a Microsoft agent so this year will be Nokia nightmare and Nokia choose straight way to full extinction... .
My next purchase Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II even i still Nokia suporter.
P.S.
If you wanna alive, then KICK OFF yankee Microsoft agent Stephen Elop and then invest a lot money in MeeGo or Symbian development!
Other way - HP Web OS... .

i think this is what Nokia is thingking...
WP7 for smartphones and flagship phones
Symbian ^3 as mid handsets
S40 and S30 for basic handsets
Meego I think would be in between or perhaps they are still thinking if it will replace the Symbian^3

Well, maybe because of this, Symbian fans will strongly support Symbian OS because Nokia is going to obsolete this OS not so soon. Maybe, because of this, Symbian OS will have more fans than before, despite of WP7 as a primary OS, and surely even one MeeGo device for this year will make it hot!

Yaeh it's all politics at Nokia now.
Elop is a major shareholder at Microsoft,& has planned very well all these dramatic moves. Many now see him as a Lunatic heading Nokia.'Well if the rooms too hot u beta move out'-Mr Elop addressing Employees.
His decisions at Nokia are not within the company's best interest
-Nokia shareholders are loosing lot of money as shares continue on declining
-thousands lots their jobs at the company and more will be loosing them
-never mind Nokia customers ,Elop knows what u want & whats good 4 u & that's WP7.
-those waiting 4 updates don't worry you'll be getting WP7 as the major update 2 yo Symbian phones-be ready 4 that coz engineers are almost done with the new WP7 update 4 S^3,but u'll have 2 pay 4 the update.
-Microsoft will in near future buy Majority of Nokia shares so as to have full control of their new division-Nokia
As 4 me,it's time 4 Intel now,it's all intel+MeeGo,never thought i would say this but feels great saying it-'RIP Nokia & Microsoft'
There's only 1 solution left,Nokia shareholders should vote Mr Elop out, vote his and his associates out of the board otherwise we are yet 2 see the worst.

Well, I "get the logic". Nokia will be able to fully customize WP7 and also will be devoloping it too, making it reach other hardware plataforms, so there will be hardware (and software) differences. And I completelly understand why Nokia don't go for Android:
1 - You don't buy a "Samsung" or "Motorola" phone anymore, you buy an Android, all the credit goes for Google.
2 - If Nokia joins Android, Android will completelly rule the smartphone market, and the only one that really get advantage with that is Google.
Also, continuing supporting Symbian is what make Nokia a decent company that respect it's users, different from Sony Ericsson and Samsung that completelly abandoned their users when they leaved Symbian.
GSMArena seems upset with the fact that the N9 was not announced, but I guess Nokia reasons were more than clean and understandable, you really don't think so, GSMArena?

what a sad day. Rather than just WP7, Nokia would have been better to have chosen Android with an Ericsson joint venture on consumer smartphones. maybe formed a joint venture OS with Blackberry on business smartphones.
