It's sad to see what nokia in trouble state right now. What nokia should have thought about developing meego os right when apple iphone was released back at 2007. At least they didn't have to take wp7 right now. Meego os would have become mature right now at 2011. It's pretty much too late for nokia to be saved by meego os which is not even finished yet. It takes a lot of time for os to develop. So nokia choosing wp7 was the only way for nokia to not to go down hard. Anyway nokia is very much in big trouble right now.

Politics, politics, politics. Although adopting wm7 is still better than sticking with symbian, android would've been a more practical choice since android is free, versus having to pay Microsoft for their wm7. Not a very effective CEO if you ask me.

If you think Elop is a mistake for Nokia, and you are smarter than Elop, why at this moment you can only comment on forums instead being a top Nokia officer and make big decisions for Nokia…?

We must show Nokia that we want Meego and not MP7. Go by the Meego N9, if we create the demand they will get back on the right track. Don’t worry abut lack of apps it can run Android apps, if you install a little additional program… Go for it..

Nokia was my favourite brand earlier, but now Samsung got the fisrt place. In spite of this situation, I hope Nokia will choose the best way to be in the top like it was before. Good luck Nokia!

Hahaha!
Trojan's first priority is to beat Android. His first priority should have been to bring a Microkia WP7 out. He's speaking like he's still working for Microsoft. Wait, he never left Microsoft; he's a trojan who happens to be Nokia's CEO.

[deleted post]Brother, trust me it is for the best Nokia to adopt WP7. Have you tried the OS yet? Please try it and you will agree that WP7 is the only OS who can beaat iOS, and Android, though the last one is not really smooth, stable OS.
Please wait for Nokia first WP7, and u will see the crowd will go wild and u will even want it.

there were no reasons to choose wp7 instead of android as i c it. there was no reason to even choose wp7 at all. its not a bad os, but has any company ever been successful when its lineup was focused on winmo os? ask this to htc (before and after android).
this is the beginning of the collapse of the phone giant nokia.
ty stephen elop. im sure ur bonus is going to be rly big while u end up firing several workers bcos performance has not been good.

Really, never knew meego has a fan base. The only people who bought those n900 are tech geeks.

I can't see the big deal to be honest unless your loyalty lies deeply with only Nokia branded Hardware & Software.
Current Symbian phones will still be supported, I for one own an N8 so am pleased with that announcement, QT is still going to be used for developing purposes and Nokia use WP7 as their primary OS, an OS which out of all the current OSes is the fledging of the group, there are limitations with WP7 at the moment but so there were early on with iOS, Android, Symbian and just about every other OS on the market.
And for anyone concerned about future support whom currently own a Symbian device such as the N8, Nokia aren't just going to abandon us and jump ship, they'd be fools to do that, they want the customer base to grow not decline and if they were to just outright stop supporting the current devices their customer base would drop dramatically.
