Weekly poll: What is your ideal screen resolution?

12 February 2017
Phones with 4K screens will be great for VR, but a 720p screen gives you a ninth of the pixels and boosts the battery life.

1080p. I have an 1440p and it literally puts my GPU through a world of hurt. For phones.

                720p is okay (4-5,5")
                1080p excellent (5-6")
                1440p overkill

1080p is the best option, because it's sharp enough and uses less battery than bigger resolutions. 1440p and 2160p have an advantage only in VR, which I think it's not very useful in a phone(on the other hand, PC and console VR is more interesting because of the much better performance and quality, a phone can do as much as a phone can do). 720p should be left to the past, it's simply too grainy.

If you have a QHD display, changing it to 720p display won't help increase your phone's battery life and performance. It just make you think as if your phone is of lesser resolution. This is because no amount of software tweaking can change a phone's hardware.

I think Full HD is best

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2017QHD. After using it on several phones, going back to FHD fe... moreI agree 100%. All these people that said QHD isn't that much different to FHD doesn't know what they're talking about.

Sure, if you compare QHD and FHD side by side, you won't see any differene. But, if you had used QHD display regularly, you WILL notice the difference if you switch to a 1080p display.

Battery life doesn't suffer much on QHD display and maybe QHD display phone suffer a little bit performance issue, but we only talking about seconds here. So why not QHD right?

I voted QHD, but if I'm an active user of VR, I would have chosen 4K.
