18 February, 2011
When we buy a new phone we are always concerned if its body is scratch-resistant or will it get dirty quickly. This is essential information because when the time comes to sell it, the better it looks the higher price...

lol what rubbish, the iphone isn't really a durable phone at all.. heaps of people I know have managed to break the screen in accidents and i've seen a number of people eg. builders, who have broken iphones due to their workplace being such a harsh environment, so I don't really how this test conducted is fair.

Ex N8 user and lover, 20 Feb 2011My N8 survived a fall onto the pavement without any casing.... moreThis has nothing to do with the fall.
Give it a hard reset. There few different codes such as *#7373* [i think] which will give it a hard reset. If not google code for symbians and i'm sure it'll work.
I've had that problem before, a reset will do it.

My N8 survived a fall onto the pavement without any casing.

2 months later however it's died saying 'full memory' and will not let me organise my apps and cannot load applications anymore. It can only make calls if I know the number. Hoping I'll recieve some 1st Class after care from Nokia.

[deleted post]Finally! Somebody who read it right and understood the article. The other guy missed the part where it says "by the end of next year" and the article was written last year.

LOL He went on to claim that it already sold 11 million. 11 million by the end of 2011 and February is not the end of 2011.

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2011Nokia fan boys are like this all the time. They defended th... moreI did go to the website as the videos shown in this article seemed rather incomplete and did not fully explain the poor score of the N8. When I went to the web site, I could not believe how they could give the N8 a score of 0 on tests after the phone broke. I give the iPhone credit for surviving an immersion in liquid. However, you don't immerse the N8 in liquid, break the phone, and then go on and do other tests with the broken N8 and then give the phone a 0 on those subsequent tests because it was already broken. This screams flawed methodology here.

By the way, I am neither a Nokia user nor an iPhone user. I am just astonished that this web site had such a flawed methodology. I am also astonished that GSM Arena chose to publish this flawed article.

What standard of testing is this? IEC, ISO??? Clearly you can see it's more of like a home made test.

but they should think about this that if windwos is good then android is best...

You can bash Nokia all you want and it'll have no effect on me. You sent the link asking for an explaination and I simply responded by sending you a link that the Iphone has the same problems. I posted the iphone failing links because the videos provided were clearly one sided. I like Android, Symbian and Meego. I've demoed iOS and it's not for me. It's nice for a very simplistic customer. I'm just keeping the playing field level while it seems like you just want to bash Nokia for no reason. Lol!
