all Nokia needed was a revamped UI and Symbian will sell like cups of coffee. I will surely buy a symbian phone with an upgraded and sleek UI

Gosh must really be tough times at Nokia, they actually listened to the cry's of the users for a new UI and UX lol!
At this rate Nokia will soon be getting their lost market share back. Now if only they could stabilize that S^3.

The irony here is Symbian even on its last years of its lifespan is guaranteed to receive more frequent software updates than any of the existing Android phones.

IMHO the single biggest thing S^3 and s60 are missing is a slick ui. I'm fine with s60 ui but I know many children aren't.
Couple this ui updte with a good browser and keyboard updates and s^3 will pull ahead again. For me. I'm sure many people will still disagree! :--D

Anonymous, 25 Feb 2011Why would I want something like Android when I can just use... moreSymbian runs smoother with less hardware than Android, look the new Galaxy Ace, Motorola Defy ou Galaxy Spica, all of them have 800Mhz CPU and they lag... The S^3 devices runs extremely smooth with a simple 680Mhz ARM11. If Symbian manage to "copy" Android, it'll be miles ahead of it. (:
And why do you think that Symbian is losing market for Android? Think about it. It's Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, HTC and a thousand of other brands using this overated crap OS against Nokia.

Is it just me or does the lower bar resemble the OS featured on the leaked N9 pics? Besides, I don't think Symbian is that bad, I actually found it to be pretty self-explaining without having to read manuals and such. And I don't give a damn about the hundreds of thousands of bullshit eyecandy apps of Apple Appstore or Android Market. Only useful if you have too much time at hand. I'm pretty content as long as my mobile phone can handle the standard smartphone tasks nicely. I've read so many articles where Symbian is described as the worst experience there is, but nobody ever give reasons why they think that way. At least with Symbian I don't have pain in my stomach when I think about data security.
One last note: I hope they don't forget about the new browser over fiddling with a shiny new UI :(

way to go nokia copy the notification bar from Android,ye could have by the way just done the right thing and used Android itself as the main nokia os instead of picking an ugly, unpopular buggy os which bricks a mass number of its user base phones with even the most simplest of firmware updates

So, it is impossible for nokia to make symbian support higher resolution 800x600?
I want a sensible person to reply me.
