But for me, I'm fine with it. I'd love to have few, 1-second shots with 960fps slow-mo in it.
Easier for me to cut and use for music video productions.
An example usage scenario for this feature.

What I meant was there is now way to change which portion of the video is shown in slo-mo like you can in the iPhone / Pixel. You get 1 seconds worth after you hit the button and that's it.
It's just a usability factor that I don't like the sound of, get a grip will you!

Herodroid, 27 Feb 2017this kind of feature is not practical at all. You pay like ... more"1-2 times just to check out? that's all. NOT. WORTH. IT."
How about using that 960fps to make an epic music video?
I have friends who are using their iPhones and Androids to capture high-speed footage. While 240fps is good, but somewhat they need faster capturing rate.
And I bet they'll ditch their current video capturing smartphones for this if they know they can use the 960fps feature.
You see, the way you speak about this feature show how close-minded you are. "NOT. WORTH. AT. ALL". It seems that you forgot that there are people would love to have the feature, which what Sony would like to offer to them.
And having a feature which what you claim will "not even being used" is much better than not having the feature at all.
I rather pay whatever the price of this thing if I am given such feature. Plus this thing also runs on SD835.
Usage will come when features are introduced. That's just how human works, they'll use whatever new features in according to their creativity.
Ooh and in case you're trying to give me "it can only record 1 second of slow-mo" argument, here's an example usage scenario;
Record 40, 1-second 960fps slow-mo footages to be used in a progressive house/trance tracks music video. And use whatever post-production magic to make the footages look frickin cinematic.
Which what I can see myself doing (and my other producer friends) for my next progressive electro house track music video project.

Anonymous, 27 Feb 2017hopefully Sony takes back the ring... sick and tired of com... moreTrue.
Common brands consumers thinks that "whatever common in smartphones technologies are the best", and since Sony implements "common features" in their own style, that what's makes Sony a tad different.
This is what most common brands consumers could not accept. The difference in how Sony implements technology.
They'll shiver to the idea that "Sony is making different design of smartphones" or "Sony implements different things in their smartphones".
But little did they know that Sony itself is playing in a very different field.
All they know is talking trash without using the real device. Just like what I used to be, after I switched to Samsung. I've been narrow-mindedly trashing the X series, until I saw and tried it in real life. And that just shut the hell out of me.
That's the problem with people right now. They think that they can see what is best just from online posting and reviews, without actually using the device. They think they know what's the best for every smartphone users on Earth.
But they don't know that people are diverse, and people's choice of smartphones are also diverse.
And Sony has been targeting their devices to these kind of "different" people across the world, which slowly attracts the attentions of other users.
But douchebags will always talk bad about Sony. I used to do so, but stopped trashing all brands because what happened as I said above.
But yeah, if people feed me with the argument "An SD430 will perform 100x better than SD820, so buy this Rm1899-priced SD430-powered smartphone instead of the RM1199-priced SD820-powered smartphone", then f**k off.

You sounded like you never touched Sony phones at all.
Sony has been supplying video editing apps since Xperia Z. And I've been slow-mo-ing my crappy 30fps 1080p video taken from my Z before.
Now I'm using Samsung, and considering changing to LG or Xiaomi for my next phone. Before this, I used (like obviously) Sony, but I got disappointed and changed to Samsung.
But now I might getting myself a Sony phone again.
