AnonD-535480, 01 Mar 2017You do know almost 1/4 of the engineers who created USB-c w... moreTrue. However, Intel is still the main inventor of usb c. Apple just help a little bit and so are many other companies like Seagate, ACON, TYCO, JAE, Dell, HP, Agilent Technologies, Cypress Semiconductor, Display Link, Foxconn and so on. Apple is just a another grain in a beach of sands full of engineers. USB technologies cannot actually be invented by one company because its a peripheral device that need to be connected to various other devices. These people work together to ensure the usb c can work with all the technology around us. It would be nonsense if Apple act so proud of something that invented through various collaboration.

It's been 10 years and yet the whole mobile world is still stuck in this world largely created by Apple. When are the competitors going to move us beyond that world Apple help created because lord know it is so bad.

I will start taking those kinds of comments seriously when a competitor is able to do that, until then "Shut the F up". If you can do better then step up to the plate and show the rest of the world how it's done. " Those who can, do. Those who can't criticize."

Anonymous, 28 Feb 2017First, ios can have little use of much ram as it has close ... moreiOS needs same amounts of RAM as Android. Check Android Authority. They explain it nicely. It's a huge misconception that iOS uses less Ram for its processes or apps, often times it actually uses more. Due to having low ram the iPhones kill parts of apps that hog RAM and then re-load them whenever needed again (videos, other media). That way you can still reload an app fairly quickly barely seeing that the device is reloading most of the heavy stuff from the storage again. So Apple thinks it can save on RAM if this works fine. Apple is about maximizing profit margins more than anything, each smallest move is aimed at it. If a new feature comes out and costs them money, Apple charges double to make up for it. If they manage to cut corners in a way nobody notices, they don't lower the price. That's how Apple has always worked.

IBM is alive and well. They are making more money than they did for the last decade or so. Surprisingly, they are just not in everyone's face as they're not chipzilla or PC maker. They focus on businesses and governments. They make systems for whole towns. They immediately sell whatever is not profitable. Apple, IBM and Intel are the trinity of finance driven tech companies. They are the A-holes of the tech world and that became part of the way they do business and how they survive.

This is the year when the 7s comes out, not 8. Besides, Apple wouldn't be able to respond so fast to the competition. Not with the bezelless curved AMOLED and likely not with USB C yet. It's a fairly slow and conservative company. If anything, maybe next year.

Secondly borderless is needed if you want a small phone with a big screen, no other way to go about it. It surprises me that Apple didn't do it first, old Apple was huge on ergonomy (one handed use, etc)

Thidly iphones are generic for years now. Ever since they gave up on one handed use they joined the masses... now they make one stop closer to them.

Basically that's what happens with big companies eventually. They join the pack to minimize the chances of a catastrophic year. In the long run they dilute the brand, but they don't care because most businessmen like most politicians look at the shot term.

Tim Cook is a middle of the pack businessman. An administrator of sorts. One who knows how to maximize the inherent advantages of his brand (hence the record capitalization of Apple of late), but one who has absolutely no idea how to create new advantages.

Tim Cook type of guys is the reason why companies have a life cycle to begin with (birth, boom, stabilisation, demise). People like Jobs (by contrast) could have his company post record profits for years and years, decades even. But they broke the cast when they made Steve Jobs. Apple like their early Arch Nemesis IBM will live ... and die eventually, it's only a matter of time.

Jesus Christ, check your info before you say something, because people later repeat that.

USB type-C was designed and published by USB Implementers Forum, that are actually few companies including HP, NEC, Microsoft, Apple, Intel, and few others.

Apple actually didnt had much input in type-C desing, because behind others back, they made their own standard that we know as Lighting. And as you see its really d i c k move by them. Typical Apple to be honest.

Also its good to mention that type-C was developed in the same time as USB 3.0 so its not so new standard in terms of technology. There where actually companies that sold and make reversible USB and microUSB that work really good, I still have few of them, and I have two flashdrives with reversible usb plug. but USB-IF ditched that idea, because they wanted more features in that standard, like sending more power via that plug.
