Bailey, 03 Mar 2017And where is you evidence to back all that you said up. No... moreLol. U don't know Nokia or have short term memory Loss. 1)you said some of Nokia phones were nicely designed. No. Actually almost all Nokia phones were superbly designed. You said they had crap software (Symbian). No. They had the best software at the time but could not keep up with the latest trends. And third, Nokia or Microsofts lumias were never failed because of design (as you said) lumias failed because of Windows. do you think lumia 1020, 920, 930, 925 icon, they all failed coz of design,? Lol. And if these flagships had same design and android instead of Windows, they would have been a big hit. and they would've also got successors which would have (its getting wired) adopted modern designs and metal builts. Actually Microsoft is best when keeping balance between minimalism and detail - rich design (look at surface pro 4 or lumia icon at that time) but their software was crap with no apps .

The "new" 3310 had one and only purpose - to make people talk about Nokia again and to make it relevant, nothing more and in the most part they did it right. Nobody at HMD expects enormous profit from tens of millions sold 3310 devices in today's smartphone age, they are not morons after all. I

Respect the name! We'll be happy if they just relive the design and everything. In that way it is still the best phone that will beat the latest phones.

I'm asking cz I'm curious .
Is there a possibility of bringing back the good old Symbian 60v3 in the entry level phone market and then try this nostalgia tactic? Cz even the entry level processors today should be more than enough to drive the Symbian OS without any hiccups and it will provide quite a lot of functionality out of the box cz if I remember right, the Symbian devices of old had all the necessary apps built in ..... And they will rarely get outdated like the entry level Android phones bkz Symbian is such an efficient OS....
Just asking , can anyone please clarify ? Thanks .

If you want to live some nostalgia then you should buy the old device instead. There's no sense to buy a new phone disguised as old phone with poor features on it. I would buy a Nokia 808 for instance just for the purpose of its camera for example (which is btw still better than most flagships around). Try pack recent tech into a retro body and expect for much more success.

5 reason why new 3310 failed
1)no 3G/4G capable
2)look cheap like toys
3)high price tag
4)screen is small then average feature phone (today is 2.8 inch)
5)can't install app

Oldnokiafan, 03 Mar 2017I was very young back then when i saw the nokia branded pho... moreI share this opinion completely. The article took me by surprise but I agree with it also. I miss the 3310 and I do feel nostalgia over the old phones. I would totally buy it, had it actually been a refreshed 3310 with, say, a slightly slimmer body and a usb charging port. This device looks like something completely different, I dont even see any resemblence to the 3310 - it looks like a glossy, ugly toy with Nokia 222 inside (which looks better than this too).

AnonD-523334, 03 Mar 2017Completely agree. This phone not even deserves to be named ... moreAnd where is you evidence to back all that you said up.
Nokia have released what 3 budget smartphones and i repeat budget and
we are no where near the end of the year yet. So my question for you is how do you know what Nokia is going to do for the rest of the 9 months.
Lets get honest Nokia phones were nicely designed (well some of them) running crap software and that was before they went to Microsoft. Microsoft took them and Nokia just kept on pumping out the same design pretty much at different price points. I dare you to go look up those phones that Nokia were pumping out when they with Microsoft and see that even then it got boring design wise. Because having a yellow, red and green phone was so amazing. I personally am waiting to see where they go and i am not telling everyone they are failure just because they have released 3 budget smartphones.
And all these people including GSM arena that have this dream vision of Nokia in the good old days Ask yourself this question if Nokia were so amazing so great why have they failed twice before?

No problem with the article by Gsm Arena but the problem in the phone market
isn't the new 3310.
There are a lot of other phones that not only aren't good for their price but are
also probably dangerous to use.
We are waiting an article that will start with a quote for ''explosions"
and that will refer for Apple that tries to steal the glory of exploding Samsung phones.

First article on here that I don't like. Not because I disagree, but because the article isn't news. This is just an opinion and it has no reason whatsoever to be displayed. If I wanted to hear someones opinion I would ask a person. This is an attack on Nokia, and this way you will never be a serious tech-news website. This makes the whole website look foolish like WSJ with the PewDiePie situation. If you want people to click on your article and you are using Nokia 3310 as clickbait, at least provide some informations. Again, personal opinion should not be displayed on a serious website

Feature phone market 17years ago is a mainstream market
3310 sold well when there were no smartphones
re-releasing a phone in the name of nostalgia is a stupid marketing effort
Feature phones in 2017 has tons of expectations today
Nokia should have used the OS running on Microsoft Band for devices like 3310 feature phones [which atleast would have been a futuristic feature phone with limited functionality]
a touch screen + capacitive touch pad would have been better in the same form factor
16MB internal memory is a very evil joke
seriously? MB? any device manufactured in 2017 should have min 1GB in the poorest of configuration
Android on $100 and above products is better
Banking 100 % on Windows or Android is not going to work
its better to have
Business Class phones running on Windows 10
Consumer Class phones running on Android

Anonymous, 03 Mar 2017Not totally sure what the author here is saying.. I mean, c... moreI would had remade Nokia 3310 something like CAT B100 feature phone. A very rugged phone that live up to expectation. And put back the originality of the classic Nokia interface. Now, its too modern UI and modern games doesn't feels nostalgic at all. New generation probably dont know but we all would like that Nokia touch that we all used to be proud of.
