Maybe Google want to express its sympathy with Microsoft's Lumia.

First, Killed Nexus and now, is the time to kill new born Pixel.

As current CEO of Google and Microsoft are from India, Pichai next move is to motivate Larry Page investing in NBA's Golden State Warriors to fulfill its goal.

    Is it April fools?

I don't want to use a Bluetooth headset. They are a pain in the backside.

My car does n't have Bluetooth...... Only way to get music onto my car is via an FM transmitter and I do need a 3.5mm jack. Silicon valley out of touch with the realities of the world.....

What a stupid future. I love ability to plug my phone to my PC speakers via jack, so I can listen to music when I'm fiddling with computer, unable to listen to music on PC itself.

I will never buy a phone without a basic headphone jack.

Even a basic $50 prepaid phone can afford to implement a headphone jack, why not a $700 phone?

This news makes me want to buy the current Pixel ("5) in white. Will not support Google if they go with this. Omitting standards is not a new feature. Looks like my future phones will all be Nokia or LG.

Apple is the best , whatever they do all other companies copy it except for resolution , display & wireless/fast charging but soon Apple will also have those , I really like the removal of 3.5mm headphone jack , how long will you use such an old port ? think something new and powerful , move on to USB Type-C now , soon everything will be all Type-C , just 1 universal connector for everything - charging , display , file transfer

                          RIP Pixel.

Hopefully everyone resists the urge to remove it and only leaves Apple on its own... LG, Huawei, Samsung and Sony have all left it in so far XD

Pixel isn't worth anything anyway. Nokia will come with clean Android and newest updates, so just go for that if you want the os benefits.

I will come back with Pixel 3 then, when they will upgrade it from Pixel 2 by re-adding the 3.5 mm. Thanks Apple.

                                  Expected
Stock android is not more than plain boring with a less feature launcher
It's another iPhone clone with no sd card
