Of course, it isn't fair to face such a huge gap but it's people themselves who make this happen by supporting this greedy company.

You just described the biggest problem in android world, why buy phones like S7 because you basicly can get same phone with 300 $. Overall the phones are so good already that fewer and fewer think is it worth of extra price. You said you have huawei, well huawei is number one OEM in my country now where Samsung has been big dominant for many years. But very few is buying S7 because for masses huawei does everything what they need.
In sametime iPhone is still best selling phone in my country, because well like i said it offers something what no-other OEM cant.

AnonD-226698, 08 Mar 2017A 12.8 % drop from last year...
In 2015 Apple had 92% and ... moreActually, I can play that game too. Starting in 2013 Samsung went from 128 billions, 98 billions in 2014, 85 billions in 2015 and ended 2016 with 81 billions. All those stats are from Statista portal. During that same period Apple went from 125 billions in 2013, 148 billions in 2014, 176 billions in 2015 and ended 2016 with 158 billions.
In Apple's case they had one mega upgrade cycle with the release of the big screen iPhone 6. They are back on their normal trajectory. What is the excuse for Samsung? They have been on a down spiral since 2013. All of those are revenue for those years btw.

A 12.8 % drop from last year...
In 2015 Apple had 92% and now it sits at 79.2... and this largely due to the Galaxy note debacle otherwise it would had probably being a bigger drop. Cupertino should start to worry.
(See how this article spins stuff up to look good when in reality they lost ground?)

AnonD-39937, 08 Mar 2017We don't say Apple products are bad, we admit that they are... moreAgain with the wordplay, facts shows that it costs about the same to make an iPhone as it does a Galaxy phone. Facts also shows that they sell for about the same price. Those two things are facts. The difference is all the promotions Samsung do in order to move devices like buy this washing machine and get a free phone etc. Plus their prices drop a month or two after it's introductions. While those things help move devices, it does so at the costs of profits. That's the route most eom's seem to want to go, move devices at the expense of profits. Apple just happens to move a ton of devices without sacrificing their profits.
Android oem's needs to stop playing the market share game because at the end of the day, market shares do not pay the bills, profits do.

AnonD-535480, 08 Mar 2017You wrote a book complaining that people are not as smart a... moreActually, the last part of my "book" was about spending wisely that hard earned money you were talking about, not about personal preferences. Even if I'd like the 800 $ rug more, it still is 600 $ more, no matter if my eyes tell me it's prettier. My brain will automatically decline the expensive one because it has the exact same benefits as the cheaper variant, apart from a label that gives it more worth. If you get the same quality and use from a cheaper product, why go for label ?
Given the last sentence, lets start to compare phones. I'm using a Huawei P9lite, so you can strike fanboying from this. Iphone and Samsung for this comparison, since they are the top dogs for now, Iphone 7 vs ..i don't know, an A5 (2016). The A5 wins in the screen department, sharper display, in the battery department ( capacity, endurance, wake time ), build quality is the same, ram is the same. The A5 gets a micro-sd slot, you need to buy a different Iphone to increase memory capacity. Slighty better camera on the Iphone, but not by much, they're not even in the same class when it comes to price range. Of course, a better proccesor on the Iphone, but it's a 1000 $ phone, while the A5 (2016) is around 300 $ now. The A5 gets a 3,5 mm jack, go figure, you don't need an adaptor.. and also, fast charging while we're at it. Now, part per part, is the Iphone better than the A5 (2016) ? Nope. Would I buy a 300 $ phone instead of 1000 $ one with similar performance overall ? Personal choice here, yep, not even worth the thinking power. But, this is also a logical choice. When you take into account the freedom, posibility of sending files to other phones AND receiving them without special apps that need an actual URL to send it over the same wifi network ( wtf ?? it's just a simple jpg ffs...), needing no special programs to copy stuff in your phone with ease... Hell yeah, 300$ it is.

AnonD-278523, 08 Mar 2017Apple is like fighting the whole galore of android brands, ... moreHowever you look at it, Apple will still be the dominant firm in this market because they are the sole producer of the other end of the OS spectrum. One side being Android, the other being iOS. Even if you split the market evenly between the 2 OS, Apple is still receiving half the profit while all the others are left to another half that has to be split between all of them.

[deleted post]It's the sad truth isn't it, but at the same time, this is our world and unless someone can change it, then we should try to live and adapt to it just like how Apple is with their overpriced products, selling away by the second.

AnonD-39937, 08 Mar 2017The Pixel phones from Google run exactly as smooth as iPhon... moreTrue mate, but at the same time people would prefer Apple for the sole reason of their exclusive iOS. I can bet you that many of those who own 2 phones today will have one iPhone and one other Android. Notice how I said, android? Because the first and second person you encounter with 2 phones will most likely have differently branded mobile phones running Android, but for the purpose of iOS, they have no choice but to get the iPhone.
Because iOS is so widely used, many who don't even like the OS still purchases the iPhone it be able to connect with those within the iOS environment. Optimisation is also a huge factor, many mobile apps actually optimize their apps on the iPhone first rather than Androids, the easiest example would be the mobile app of the recent IPO, Snapchat.

The words of the genius behind Apple Steve Jobs "Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn't really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That's because they were able to connect experiences they've had and synthesize new things."

The reality is Apple's IOS is what makes it sell it simply just a good expensive software that is what you are paying for it exclusivity. And those who have the money to dish out will do just that for exclusivity.

That's the problem with your comment, people always talk about choice and freedom as long as those things ally with their own. Once that is no longer the case, all hell take place.
