People have become so unreasonable in their demands. It's funny because they complain that technology isn't advancing as quickly as they want when they aren't the slightest bit contributory to such advancement. Self-entitled brats, the lot of you.

The note series does not wish to compete with the s series. It's meant for those who value productivity on a portable device. It's not samsung's fault the numbers rival those of the s devices. AnonD-621510, 18 Mar 2017Unbeatable at single core but never good at multi core. Apple SoC was beaten already until the M*nkeys changed the scoring algorithm.
See this comparison between A9 and SD821
http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench3/compare/3768901?baseline=8186466
Just look at how magically they dragged down the score of SD821 just to make it look like even the A9 is a superior device that these iD!*ts are drooling all over.
http://browser.primatelabs.com/v4/cpu/compare/2085793?baseline=1445749
When you adjust something it should affect all SoCs equally think of 3DMark and PCMark. For some reason, these m*nkeys have smoked some pot and changed the scoring algorithm in favor of Apple SoC.

The fab process shouldn't be an issue for the mali since it's running at, relatively, low frequencies.

Droid, 18 Mar 2017Why people will buy phones only for benchmark results. They... moreI voted for gsmarena.com to completely remove benchmarks from reviews (and voiced my opinions many times in this).
GSMarena keeps them in though because they make reviewing easier. Unfortunately they end up presenting what is mostly qualitative data (sense of responsiveness) as quantitative data (single numbers from benchmarks of dubious methodology).... which obviously leads to many misunderstandings.
Benchs saw peak performance which depending on the use can be anything from 3% to 0.1% of the use of the phone from a given user. The practicality of knowing those numbers is close to nil. They're not completely irelevant numbers but they are certainly far less relevant numbers than IO performance and RAM retention (how many apps are allowed to be loaded on ram at once), neither of which are being presented. Not to speak of less tangible things like animations.
So while not outright lying , those numbers do tell a very small part of the truth, compounded by the fact that the more relevant parts of perceived performance are often not being referred to at all I do believe that many reviews are a powerful source of misinformation.
I voted for the ban of benchs from review sites because that would at least lower the occurrence of misinformation on "technically correct" reviews. Lower the amount of error in trying to describe the performance.
Of course GSMArena is unlike to listen to me. Like I said synthetic benchs are too easy to run to turn down. I'd much prefer a periphrastic explanation of performance than raw numbers though. The readers would actually get a better image...

Why people will buy phones only for benchmark results. They are happy with benchmark results that only benchmark apps can put smartphones in these absolute limits. Usual tasks like facebook whatsapp or some games in the market will never put yours smartphone to the top limits so we are happy with performances smartphones will never reach appart from benchmarks tests. This is a big mistake guys.
