Gingerbread for Galaxy S coming in March, Froyo for Galaxy 3 and 5

Samsung Mobile Romania posted on their Facebook page that the I9000 Galaxy S will be getting Gingerbread (after a quick v2.2.1 update), while the I5500 Galaxy 5 and I5800 Galaxy 3 will be served Froyo soon...

*before 20 March will be available 2.2.1 for Galaxy S, Gingerbread (2.3) before end of March.
*I5500 will get Froyo next week (14 - 20 March).
*I5800 will get Froyo towards end of March (before 31st)
So the article got it pretty right.

Is there a difference between I5500 and I5503?
Also, when i connect to kies, it says "this version cannot be updated". Pls help?
