Btw, Samsung already disable all type of network connectivity including mobile data and wifi. You can never connect to the internet in the first place anyway. The update pushed forcefully by samsung works seamlessly to disable and kill the phone immediately. You wont be seeing 'updating phone...' in the notification shade or anything like that. Its one shot, one kill. No permission from user needed.

note 7 will be legend. btw android always keep change,now began with android oreo.looks like one at least 2 major update,and just wonder until when they can find the good one, maybe forever .after finish until z maybe A again.just like in terminator, genesys is skynet, for real google is skynet now.

Makes sense because if they want to sell refurbished ones in the future they must absolutely render all the old ones useless first to stop anyone trying to sell their defective one as a refurbished one when they become available.

if they disabled the automatic updates and software checking then there is no way they can disable them all, they should just get the carriers to block the devices from connecting to mobile/cellular towers as well as pushing updates to make the phones pointless, i was recently in Sri lanka and they still had these on sale, as im sure many 3rd world or developing countries still have them retailing at 3rd party stores but i guess they still tried to block and recall as best as possible, if people dont want to let go that is their issue not samsungs.

Toda I'd changed my galaxy alpha buildprop into note7's one. The phone entered the safe mode and refused to leave it ;))) then i changed it again.

Frankly. I have the pen of the note 7 (NOT THE PHONE ITSELF, I wish I experienced the phone...;_;) And I really wonder. Is it THAT worthy to keep the phone? I have a Galaxy S7 ( with Xiaomi mi 5 and iPhone 7. But let's not get onto that. I'm a hybrid fan) and the Note 7 is a mere stretched Galaxy 7. True that the design is gorgeous, and waterproof. PLUS a waterproof pen. And USB C cable. But it's worthy to keep such a phone and not sacrifice 0.2 inche for safety? Why people are keeping it like it contains the elixir of immortality. Or the holy grail of Smartphones. I do agree the phone is awesome. But Safety is first. And if I needed to swap it due to danger. I'll be fine with a slightly smaller one. And returning the phone without hesitation, but not before stealing the pen for art porpuse. ;P (seriously. 4,096 pressure levels! And waterproof! Heaven for every digital artist!)

Every year Android and iOS keep turning into the same OS by getting closer and closer. They started at different end, but they are slowly merging in the middle. iOS started completely as a lockdown os that is slowly opening up and Android started as a wild wild west but slowly adopting some of the iOS lockdown (although not completely) restriction nature to better handle things.
