.DeadPool., 29 Mar 20175.8 inches and only 3000 mah ??? i hope that 20 min charge ... moreIt's more about optimization. If you have a tons of apps made by kids running in the background all day, it won't even last for half a day. This is the down side of Android. play store is full of craps

AnonD-600167, 29 Mar 2017148.9 is too tall? Are you freaking kidding me? Its less ... moreI think he is comparing 148.9 mm of galaxy s8 with 142.4 mm of galaxy s7. We know the galaxy s8 has larger display than galaxy s7, But still not everyone wants a 5.8 inch display, Which makes the phone taller. Thats awesome that samsung managed to fit 5.8 inch display in such a small form factor.

AnonD-600167, 29 Mar 2017148.9 is too tall?
Are you freaking kidding me? Its less ... moreIn the past, people have done tests with the S7 with regards to lowering the rendering res of the screen and it has been showed by multiple groups of people that on full or 1080p makes no difference to run time to any notable degree. I guess this option is best when playing games or using a 3d rendered program.
I am sure a lot of apps will not be able to use the full screen area due to the very un-optimised and uncommon aspect ratio, iPhone had this same problem when they changes aspect ratio.
I have a feeling that this might be a phone that paves the way for the s9 / note 8 I guess.

Honestly, Samsung Fanboy here.
I get the battery issue people are concerned about and I am not evening going to try and defend it because I doubt that a CPU lithography drop of 4nm will make it acceptable and cable of lasting out a day in my world.
I have the 128GB S6 Edge and the only way I get through my day is by keeping it on a wireless charging platform on my desk when I am working and this way, I am always on or close to 100% battery. I like the S8 design but the battery might just kill it.
I hope that there is some special new tech in the new screen that is using much less power and will balance the battery out, but regardless, we are going to see a lot of software doing tricks to keep battery drain down.
And yes, I would imagine that this small battery is the only way Samsung could build this phone and be seriously comfortable about it not exploding in a ball of flames like the Note7.
Finally, I would add that if the battery is going to be so small, I might very well move over to the XZ Premium and let Samsung get their act straightened out after since they are clearly playing it safe as a result of the Note7.

AnonD-235041, 29 Mar 2017Total disappointment! Size is huge! S8 is 148.9 too tall an... more148.9 is too tall?
Are you freaking kidding me? Its less than that of s7 edge's and the iphone 7 plus with huge bezels that stands at 158.2 and the s8 plus with 6.2 inch screen is just 1.5mm taller.
Now that must be small for you.
And yeah, the battery life with suck at s8 unless you reduce the screen resolution to 1080p or 720p.
