No one is going to use a 30 mp camera.
Xiaomi might be a small manufacturer in comparison to samsung and apple but xiaomi's market share is higher then lg/htc/sony etc.
And anythng above 20 mp on a smartphone camera sensor is just gonna be pathetic in low light, coz the individual pixels wud be ridiculously small. And they cant compensate with aperture coz larger the aperture, worse autofocusing there is.
Thatsy samsung had to introduce dual pixel autofocusing when they increased the aperture to f/1.7.
And currently der r no camera sensors in d market with 30 mp resolution and dual pixel autofocus.
And the date on that box is of last year.
So, definitely fake.

But your concept is totally wrong
Adding 1/2 + 1/2 is indeed 1, but if the sensor is measured horizontally
Meanwhile, camera Sensor is measured in diagnol which 1" sensor equal to four 1/2" sensor(i hope i can put diagram)
So yeah, like that guy said, its equal to 4 half inch sensor

Mi series always have good camera though nit the best. No other phone camera will compare to redmi 4a and redmi 4 in the price range

I think samsung just focus the infinity display at the s8 but look at this, 4000mAh battery with somewhat similar shape to s8, 6gb ram, possibly a dual camera, im impressed again xiaomi, i like this one, i was supposed to get the mi5 but limited availability which sucks and now i got a3 2017, great device but no midrange beat great flagships

I still remember someone said the higher pixels of camera sensor is gimmicks, they trolling on Sony thread, they said the 8MP or 12MP is more than enough, they trolling Sony 20MP and 23MP is gimmicks, but now the xiaomi break all the trolls nonsense.

But her MiPad still going strong without any trouble.
