Basically RAM caching makes your phone fly, you never wait for new apps to load anymore, basically. 3T is head and shoulders a faster experience than S7 edge, everybody who has an experience with both knows it (a day is enough to show the difference).

Savor , 20 Apr 2017Stop defending Samsung, dudes. Face it, their software ... moreOptimization is secondary. OnePlus have 100% more usable ram, that makes a night and day difference. All 6GB phones are almost as smooth as OnePlus 3T (mi mix exlclusive owner here).

Most androids are almost equally optimized at this point, they just have to lack well written drivers to such, else best hardware wins always and since storage speeds and RAM amount is what matters more for everyday performance, the devices that have more of those win ... always.

It's the end of the world and now that phone is so sluggish and terrible.

        Stop defending Samsung, dudes.

Face it, their software optimization sucks. OP3 had the same SoC (Snapdragon 820) and people called it the smoothest and fastest Android to use for daily usage. People are blaming Qualcomm SoC when they should be blaming Samsung. I find the irony that the Exynos GPU is better this time. Who cares? So Samsung can handle 3D gaming smoother than a 2D UI?

It has been nearly 9 years since Android was released to the public and Samsung still is stuck in 2007 with their TouchWiz lag. They will never change. They will continue to insist putting bloat on their phones. Using this Grace UX is like putting two condoms on. No pleasure! STOCK ANDROID bareback feels way better!

Which is pretty much why iphones would always be the faster phone(s) (they do not constantly reload assets).

Also why 6GB android phones would dominate against "faster" phones. It's there , before your eyes. S8 cannot even beat last year's phones. Samsung grew greedy and give us second rate phones that look flashy but are empty inside. Similar with battery, despite having part of the screen unlit during the video test it *still* posted 10 hours less than S7 edge. What a serious downgrade S8 is. Only fanboys would gorge in it.

Let it load completely then click the home button. Remove that worthless iOS-biased video editor and you will not see performance difference between them all.

In tests like phonebuff's and C4Etech's RAM is the king because it allows for a faster "second round"

In fact S8 is *dominated* by OP 3T (7:40 vs 7 minutes) in this test: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OX4JucpvbJM

I doubt phonebuff would find a different result. But again it has little to do with SoC. Heck, I expect C9 pro to be faster than S8 despite the far worse SoC ... because at this point SoC doesn't matter to day to day performance .

IO speeds do, and RAM's IO is far faster than Nand's , so having more RAM easily means having less loading to do once you have opened enough apps, meaning a faster phone. That simple.

If you look at the Samsung software, its more heavy and feature packed than One Plus as they use close to stock software. Another thing Samsung uses QHD as opposed to the Full HD used by one plus.

I still believe the Exynos 8895 chip os much more efficient than Snapdragon 835. Imagine how powerful a One plus phone would be if it employed an Exynos chipset?

Which probably gives the s8 an edge when it comes to smoothness and consistency in graphics.

Other than that the S8 has a higher quality screen, a better hdr set, and dramatically better vr capabilities.
