"just" 50 falls!?! I have never had a phone fall more than 4-5 times in a span of 2-3 years of its use

My A5 original is still not shattered despite the fact it's midrange, it's 2-3 years old and that it has no protection whatsoever. I somehow tend to say the S8's fragility was intended to gain money for screen replacements.

Just wait till whole front will be a screen. They should just use glass like x force, that survives ~300m drop.

Cannot be a surprise. Rounded glass corners as well as sides, must be more vulnerable than a flat-fronted design.

The first thing I did with my new SGS7 was put it in a big, rugged case. It took away the slim form factor and the premium design, but seriously, who cares?! When it falls, I don't worry.
It fell on granite on the first week, and there's not a scratch on it. Banzai to rugged cases!
If Active was sold in my country, I'd probably get that instead.

Basically samsung is saying you want design & style & Rounded Corners to look good . Then compromise on build quality , afterall its just Scratch resistance glass , not Shock Resistance. The ends of the phone should have been more square ( Like S7 edge or s6 edge ) than the full curve of S8 which is the undoing.

Wow! What a surprise!! Not really... Common sense that curved glass is prone tu crack compared tu flat glass ¦¬|
