ssbatman21, 14 May 2017The screen to body ratio should also be taken into consider... moreAverage consumer doesn't really care about that. Even for me, whats the point of having a bazelles phone, if you drop it, the glass will shattered, and the way to prevent that , a case to protect it, case is pretty much a bazel to me.

AnonD-657131, 14 May 2017Those who choose more than 6" are crazy go buy a tablet in... moreAgree!!! But good spec tablet are so expensive, low mid range pretty much only offer 1 gb of ram. Unless higher mid range tab have better offer but the price is almost the same with a high mid range. Let's say, huawei tab m3, is almost the same price as one plus 3t here in my country

Also, as always, poll isn't perfect. it should ask "what is the ideal screen size for u? " so that the purpose is just to find the wattage of preferences for sizes.

The screen to body ratio should also be taken into consideration.....
S8 has a 5.8" display in a body which is similar to s7 edge which has 5.5" display.....

5.0" 1080p AMOLED is the ideal screen for me. Overall ideal footprint (including shape /curvature of top and bottom bezels) is galaxy s4. Or say, galaxy s4 /oneplus X /Sony Xperia X. Xperia is narrowest but tallest, while s4 is shortest. Oneplus X is slimmest.

AnonD-669286, 14 May 2017Are you people loopy? 5.2" is the ideal screen size? Maybe ... moreYour name ' great' but you are not so great, how many people these days use screen bigger than 5.5? Not that much. Most of it ranged between 5.0 to 5.5. I guess 5.5 us the most since all mid range phone using that screen size. 5.2 is like the godlike number as it is only being offer on all company flagship. You know why? Because those that can afford flagship phone, do you think they only have one phone? I'm like 100 percent sure they have a tablet somewhere in their bag. A 5.2 screen is more than enough for your everyday use actually but in the market right now it's being populated by 5.5 inch phone. Is 5.5 inch screen cheaper than 5.2 inch? Can someone clarify that for me?

I'm using 5.5 inch right now, and I'm still feeling like I can hold a bigger phone in my hand.

Mine goes for 4.8 - 4.9 squeezed into a body 65mm. 65mm is about the perfect width, easily in one hand, thumbs can reach the entire screen, not obtrusive on the pocket.
And for everyone complaining that they can't fit their fat fingers on the keyboard at that size, that's because you're --still-- trying to tap letters, like we did in 2004. Time to move with the future and start using a swipe input, that is actually --better-- the closer the letters are to each other.
4.8" is about the perfect balance of handling and screen estate. 4.8 screen, phone the size of Sony Z1 Compact. Perfection all-round.

AnonD-179696, 14 May 20174.7 because I loves my iPhone size Isn't 4.7" too small? I would struggle typing and browsing on such a small screen and I have small hands. 5.1" should be the ideal screen size for a regular smartphone; 5.5" for a plus-sized smartphone. The S7/S7 edge are the perfect regular/plus-sized smartphone pair.

The key question is not about the screen size, but the phone size. I want the biggest screen possible in a phone about 120 x 70. I do not need big bezel because I am all the time looking at the screen! But I want small bezels to protect the screen. LG G6 is actuaaly the phone that is more closer to this concept.

Under five inches should have been included, some people want bigger screen while those who have smaller hand, 4.6" is already a sweetspot. I hate the way the trend is going.

I also agree with some fellows below that the size and screen to body ratio is more important.I am not a big fan of Sony's bezels but I am neither a fan of the bezeless phones from LG and Samsung because I consider them uncomfortable to hold.If Sony manages to decrease the bezels size a bit but keep the front stereo speakers in place, that would be the best option for me.

Are you people loopy? 5.2" is the ideal screen size? Maybe if you have tiny hands. That's just plain ridiculous to have a screen that small, and frankly it's uncivilized. Ideally the best screen size is 5.8" to 6.2" inches. Anything less is just wasting time.

Poor survey. You could select a winner as the ideal screen size but with a phone that has ancient, large bezels. This is also the mistake of most people that touch or touchscreen is revolutionary during the release of the first iPhone. It has nothing to do with touch, but making the screen larger for the given size of the phone and still remain usable. You also need to realize, that each year, the screen area has been growing as bezels are getting smaller.
