Hey Sony, what the? The proyector is nice... But putting an SD 650 on a design that overheats is not a good idea. Is on a similar fashion like putting a SD 808. It would be better to debut it with an SD 820/821!
Also the cost is stupid high... Why Sony? You did a magnificient design but the cost kills the purpouse of it!
Now the competition will get the best of the features you have and put the perfect projector to the people.
I guess Xiaomi will make a better projector by later in thia year.

[deleted post]You have to understand, this thing is a projector with a touch screen. It obviously costs a lot because building such hardware like that is complicated and a simple mistake might lead to a failure instantly, but they didn't.
Tbf, this $1700 price tag is already generous, 'cause I thought this was gonna be more than $2000 for what it is.
It's the same thing when a projector costs over $2000 and said the same thing, but now we can easily find one for under $200. A new technology needs to take time to be developed, and this isn't just a typical smartphone, this is a smart projector. It may be pricey, but it"ll surely paid off once you have tried using it - how cool would it be to have an operating device on an absolutely plain flat and empty surface.

Marquiz, 12 Jun 2017Its funny how this type of innovation never been approached... moreA complete finish product like this? Probably not exist or maybe it does, who knows. Not like everyone get to test every electronic devices out there.
But the idea of this device definitely exist cause I've seen device that got the basic function like this project you phone screen to the table and you can "touch"/control it.
I believe it is one of the video from unbox therapy.

Anonymous, 12 Jun 2017New things are always welcome. No matter who's making it.
... more100% true. People always have different taste especially if the brand who made it wasn't their favorite one.
I bet if Sony uses OLED on their smartphones, they will get criticized because IPS LCD offers more accurate colors, whereas if they remain using IPS LCD, people will bash them for not giving a perfect black. People always get mad at something they really hate.
A succeeding company always has its own obstacles that drag it down.

it's noted that sony head mount display HMZ-T3 was never cheap at US$950, due to high end market, but it's offspring was the playstation VR at US$400 released 3 years later, innovation is never cheap and initial released products was higher than anticipated price, but most eventually trickle down to more reasonable prices later in time

Now that I saw this review, I might consider purchasing one. I mean, it works well for educational purposes. For the price itis pretty much a standalone projector with touch function. In school the projector need at least a PC or a laptop. So this is pretty useful device.

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2017For what? They didn't invent or innovate anything on thisThen show me another product of this type in market...
It's a good product for presentations on the go better than those puny laptops. If only it ran Windows and had sd835 or maybe an Intel core i5... Plus some sort of keyboard input

Its funny how this type of innovation never been approached and design by any other brand and we got so many rendered video and wishlish about it and when sony make one, you tend to hate it with immature reasons. For price, projectors been around for years, but touch screen projectors doesn't....to design such a thing cost a lot because its not mainstream product. I bet the R&D of this thing cost a lot more than they actually priced. And second, the brand..Sony. I know a lot of you doesnt like Sony for some reason that doesnt make any sense. More like nit-picking if you ask me. They have made many good product and many still use Sony hardware on their phone. I bet when Samsung or Apple got the idea from Sony about this product and design their own, i bet you will praised its such a innovative product and cast aside who made them first. Like they always do.

People hate it because it's not from Samsung or Apple.
If it was either one of them, they'd even buy it for $5000.
How sad, that how little people know to appreciate.
If Sony is lost now and nobody cares about them, explain to me how Sony is having the most profit for flagships.
Mind you, the Premium would sell more than any Xperia flagship.

AnonD-507364, 12 Jun 2017As usual, Sony always prices its products sky-high. $1700... moreThe "best" projectors cost a lot more than 1000 dollars, the budget-ones within this price-range. I know, I've been looking for a projector myself and you don't get a "best projector" for less than many thousands of dollars. :D But yeah, I think Sony overpriced this product too.

As usual, Sony always prices its products sky-high.
$1700? Are you joking?
Even the best projector out there costs max $999 only.
I think Sony is so lost nowadays, no wonder even their Xperia Premium can't sell well.
No one cares about Sony anymore
