Sony Xperia Touch review

11 June 2017
Sony Xperia Touch is a projector that can turn any surface into an Android interface with full touch functionality. It's almost like the ultimate high-tech toy sent from the future.

Projects are the past. Way too bad image quality compared to pled screens. Yes you can make the screen arbitrarily beef but it looks like sh*t . BTW there's another way to make a screen bigger, just bring it closer to the eyes. Owning a tab S1 , it looks huge when I hold it 10 inches from my eyes, much bigger than anything this projector can do (since you always have to look at it from distance), 10 times the image quality and sharpness, 10 times cheaper...

What was Sony thinking? That's a spectacularly bad product. Innovation for the sake of innovation is not really innovation, it's tomfoolery.

i like this idea but i don't really see much a market for such a device especially at such a high cost.
this is just a modern version of laser keyboards from 10-15 years ago, more advanced of course but basically the same tech with some upgrades.

                    Dang this looks pretty good

                    $1500

                    K bye

To those that think such projector is just bloody expensive, well you are right, but then again this isn't a mainstream device in the first place. It's just like their A9 cameras, which is 'just' a 24MP MILC but with 4500US$ pricetag. Their market is just not you guys (yet), but it's definitely will see usage on the professional use, or office use. I believe any office who provide this kind of device will make their client go 'ooohhh' and 'aaahhh'..

Even though I would never buy it in that price point but it's good to see something new and different. If more companies are coming after it then definitely price will drop soon.

Sony is late, someone could get the Lazertouch much cheaper and it does the same things if not better. That's Sony for ya, overpricing their garbage.

Akinaro, 11 Jun 2017Amazing device especially taking in to the account that its... moreIt's not even worth $1000 sadly.

Amazing device especially taking in to the account that its made by sony that recently seriously lack any... balls or ideas for their mainstream devices.

As for device is self... that price is WAY to big. because beside that really snappy and accurate IR detection... it doesnt really have anything special in it...
Even projector it self seems advanced but when you look closer for it actual spec and quality, and compare it price and quality to other ST projectors you will see that projector it self would be worth less than 400$(you can get other STP with 1080 for about 600-700$)

So because of that would rather price it for about 1000$ not 1500-1700. Difference seems small but that 500$ is nothing more than additional price for brand name of it, not technology and functions that it have.

I don't know what planet they came from that $1700 seemed worthy of this. Boots not even worthy of $1000

Wow. This is something I mean really something unique. Sure the idea was already there a decade ago but someone is trying to do it.
