HTC got the camera and the audio right, but that pesky headphone jack spoils the fun for some.

The lack of 3.5 mm jack is annoying. But what really concerns me is the glass back. Not only is it vulnerable to being dropped and shattering. But it makes the phone very susceptible to any flexing as was shown in a durability test on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DdRxmu2jcMs

The person testing the phone said it's one of the least durable and most easily damaged phones they've tested. That's pretty disappointing give that the U11's immediate precursor, the HTC 10 was one of the most durable phones they tested.

Durability is a very practically valuable thing, especially on a very expensive phone that one might hope to keep for a long time. Giving up durability just for something that is preceived to be mores stylish and trending seems like a really bad design choice to me.

I'd be afraid to carry the U11 around or put it in any pocket, because it takes so little flexing to break it.

Yeah, right now people are excited about the phone. It just came out. It's easy to get high praise for any product when it's brand new. Give it a few months and see how people when reports start pouring in like: I barely sat down and I heard my phone crack.
